Please be advised that Sabiha Gökçen Airport is more advantageous than Atatürk Airport for the participants who will stay in Anatolian side or will directly attend the meetings after the flight. Sabiha Gökçen is less crowded than Atatürk Airport, flights are less delayed and there is no loss of time at passport inspection. The best option from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to go the hotels is to take a taxi. Since there is neither metro station nearby the airport nor direct public transportation to most of the hotels, this option will be much quicker and easier for the participants. Atatürk Airport (European Side) Istanbul Atatürk Airport (IATA: IST) is located in the European side of Istanbul. From the airport, there are various options to go to the hotels. You may find taxis outside of the airport, there are Havataş buses going to Taksim Square or there is a metro inside the airport. However, in order for you to have an easy journey and not to get tired within complicated Istanbul transportation we will have two recommendations 10. For the participants leaving from the airport between when there is less traffic in Istanbul, the best option is taking a taxi. If you are leaving the airport not between these hours the second best option would be taking IDO high-speed catamaran from Bakırköy IDO Iskele (IDO: Istanbul Deniz Otobüsleri Istanbul Sea Buses; İskele: ferry pier) to go to Bostancı or Kadıköy, transportation hubs of the Anatolian side. This will be much faster and cheaper than a taxi during the rush hours. Topkapı Palace was the administrative, educational and art center of the Ottoman Empire for nearly four hundred years. The Palace was separated from the city from the land-side by the Imperial Walls which were built during the period of Mehmed the Conqueror. It was also separated from the city from the sea-side by the Byzantine Walls. After the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, Topkapı Palace was transformed into a museum in It has the characteristic of being the first museum of the Republic of Turkey. Topkapı Palace is one of the biggest palace-museums with its architectural structures, collections and approximately archive papers in the world.. 18

Many historical places which highly attract tourists are concentrated near Sultanahmet Square, in the heart of the Imperial Centre of the Ottoman Empire. The most famous places in this area are Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), the Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı), Palace of Ibrahim Pasha and the Museum of Islamic Art. In addition to these interesting selection of historical and architectural sites, Sultanahmet also has a large number of carpet and souvenir shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The participants who plan to leave Istanbul that evening will be invited to take their luggage with them on the tour. The buses will be stationed in a defined place so that after completing their tour, guests may pick up their luggage from the bus and depart for the airport on their own depending on their return flights. General Information about Public Transportation in Istanbul İstanbul has an extensive bus system, including city-run and private buses, as well as one high-speed Metrobüs line; an extensive light rail system including four Metro (underground) lines, four Tramways (aboveground), two Fünikülers (ascending/descending), two mini-lines called Teleferik, and the Marmaray (underwater) lines; and the ferries which travel the Bosphorus.
