Lake Abant is located about 40 km from Bolu center and is at an altitude of around 1320 meters. The lake is a fresh water lake with an area of about 1.28 square kilometers formed as a result of a great landslide. The lake is under environmental protection. Another place of interest in the Bolu/Abant area is the Yedigoller (Seven Lakes) National Park, and Golcuk, an artifi cial lake 11 kms south of this.
