You will experience the intellectual and artistic marvels of the Hellenic Civilization at the height of the Golden Era. Athens, the capital of Hellas, illuminating ever since antiquity, alone gave rise to the greatest leaders of humanity in the history of the world in the fields of Philosophy, Science, Politics and Leadership, Rhetoric, Arts, Medicine and many other great achievements bestowed upon all humanity until today. Upon climbing the Acropolis, you will feel the powerful energy of the sacred rock, where the longest lasting democratic leader, the great Pericles and the legendary Aspasia a scholar and philosopher inspiring him and standing as his equal. You will be in awe of the sight and grandeur of the Parthenon, a monument built high above the city as an eternal Symbol of Democracy. The Parthenon is a temple of perfect structure and aesthetics devoted to Athena the Goddess of Wisdom. Sophia Wisdom has always been the goal of the Hellenes humanistic spirit and whose philosophers were perpetually seeking. Socrates, Plato and Aristotle understood that leadership could be safe and stable either by transforming the leader into a philosopher or the philosopher into a leader through the virtues of prudence, bravery, justice, and piety. The leader, in turn, should be able to inspire and cultivate an inner motive for the good inside each citizen. The practical examination of these theories were tested to be true with Aristotle s student, Alexander the Great, who treated Persians equal to Hellenes throughout his reign-- no doubt a direct result of his teacher s philosophical influences. You will follow the very footsteps of these giants of thought as they walked along the streets of the ancient Agora (market), discussing and proving their theories and ideas with fellow citizens and thus changing the future of the world. At the Acropolis Museum shining in the extraordinary bright light of the Athenian sky, you will have a chance to admire the divine sculptures of the gods, heroes and leaders of the most famous wars and battles of antiquity, such as Achilles, Leonidas and Themistocles. Under this very same light, the ancient citizens of Athens dared to practice direct Democracy, Freedom of Speech, and the Political Argumentation at the Ecclesia (or Assembly) as well as at the famous courthouse of Areios Pagos in Pnyka-- as an opposition to the tyranny and intellectual slavery of the established civilizations of the East. Pnyka is the hill where Demosthenes gave his most brilliant speeches to defend democracy and Isocrates conceived the Pan-Hellenic idea of the Hellenic City-States making an unprecedented revolution in the definition of a human nation: Whoever is not a Hellene is a barbarian, however A Hellene is one who has a Hellenic education.

3 Throughout this journey you will also have the opportunity to sample ancient Hellenic cuisine and understand how this paved the way for the logic of Hippocrates on therapy and medicine: you are what you eat. Furthermore, you will have the chance to experience the magnetic force of standing at the center of the world in Delphi, and come upon the most famous inscriptions: ΓΝΩΘΙ ΣΑΥΤΟΝ ΜΗΔΕΝ ΑΓΑΝ Delphi played a crucial role in the outcome of the ancient Hellenic history, a history of victory through bravery not only in war, but as a part of maintaining peace throughout the great institution of the Olympic Games. In Athens you are going to see the Zappeion, the first building to be erected for the revival of the Olympic Games in the modern world. You will also visit the Hatzikriakio Childcare Institution that houses orphan children--both Hellenes and refugees-- and have the chance to do your part in this philanthropic organization as a Young Global Leader. Additionally, you will take part in a World Leaders of the Future Workshop and become familiar with ideas deriving from great leaders of antiquity from Solon to Alexander the Great and to the present. You will visit the Hellenic Parliament and learn about the traditions of politics from ancient Athens to the present day. You will have the opportunity to meet with the Hellenic Minister of Tourism and exchange your thoughts and ideas. At the end of your journey you will complete your Hellenic Ideals experience by attending an amazing theatre production encompassing the most important works of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides in ancient tragedy. Through the meaningful ancient Hellenic myths and the moral basis of Hubris- Ate- Nemesis shows us how the greatest leaders in mythology wield power and leads to a therapeutic cleansing of the soul, that we call catharsis. To summarize the entire philosophical wisdom of the ancient Hellenes in two sentences that would be Know Thyself and Nothing in Excess. The Hellenic Idea of Leadership opposes the Machiavellian principals of domination and gives rise to the Humanistic Ideal, something that we need now more than ever. 5 Sunday - May 15 th, 2016 Μέτρον άριστον Everything in moderation TBA TBA Arrival in Athens and transfer to the hotel Walk in the picturesque area of Plaka It wouldn t be much of an exaggeration to say that the oldest district of Athens, Plaka, might be one of the most unique, beautiful and historic neighborhoods on earth. Also known as the Neighborhood of the Gods, Plaka lies right under the cradle of Western civilization, the Acropolis. Plaka is filled with many archaeological monuments and sites spanning millennia. It s also thought that it has been continuously inhabited for nearly three thousand years, which of course makes it one of the most ancient continuously active neighborhoods in the world today.

7 Monday - May 16 th, 2016 Ἄρχε σεαυτοῦ Rule thyself 8:00 The Mysteries of the Great Gods (Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Ancient Agora, Pnyx, Areopagus) Acropolis: The greatest and finest sanctuary of ancient Athens, dedicated primarily to its patron, the goddess Athena, dominates the center of the modern city from the rocky crag known as the Acropolis. The most celebrated myths of ancient Athens, its greatest religious festivals, earliest cults and several decisive events in the city's history are all connected to this sacred precinct. The Acropolis Museum was founded to exhibit all the significant finds from the Sacred Rock and its foothills. It was designed by architect Bernard Tschumi with Michael Photiadis and inaugurated in the summer of The Museum hosts its collections across three levels, as well as in the archaeological excavation that lies at its foundations.

8 The Ancient Agora of Classical Athens is the best-known example of an ancient Hellenic agora (market) located to the northwest of the Acropolis and bounded on the south by the hill of the Areopagus and on the west by the hill known as the Agoraios Kolonos, also called Market Hill. The Pnyx (Pnyka) is a hill in central Athens, the capital of Hellas. Beginning as early as 507 BCE, the Athenians gathered on the Pnyx to host their popular assemblies, thus making the hill one of the earliest and most important sites in the creation of democracy. The Areopagus is the composite form of the Hellenic name Areios Pagos, translated "Ares Rock. It is north-west of the Acropolis and in classical times, it functioned as the high Court of Appeal for criminal and civil cases.

According to ancient legend, the two eagles left from Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the center of the world, met at Delphi. Since then, Delphi identified as the navel of the earth and not just geographically. For many centuries it constituted a high spiritual and religious center and symbol of unity of the ancient Hellenes Dinner in Aegli Zappeion Aegli s location could not be more ideal for the visitor of Athens. It was founded in 1889 by Ioannis Hatzikyriakos and his wife Marigo with the mission to take care of the orphaned and homeless girls in Hellas. It hosts girls from the age of 6, coming from families with serious social and financial problems and offers, in addition to accommodation, care and emotional support as well as great educational opportunities in order to learn how to live as adults in a modern society. 14:00 Lunch in Mikrolimano-Istioploikos Mikrolimano it is a popular location, attracting people from all over Attica. It is a beautiful little harbor with fishing boats, small boats and luxury yachts. The port was protected by the goddess Mounihia Artemis that's why sometimes it is referred as port of Munihia. 13 15:30 Athens Riviera Tour You don't need to get on a ferry to escape the bustle of the Hellenic capital: take a short bus ride and you'll find superb local beaches along the sheltered Saronic Gulf stretching from the southern suburbs of Athens to the southernmost point of Attica, Cape Sounio. Cape Sounion is noted as the site of ruins of an ancient Hellenic Temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology. The remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea. The Parliament is the supreme democratic institution that represents the citizens through an elected body of Members of Parliament (MPs).It is a unicameral legislature of 300 members, elected for a four-year term. The Old Parliament building at Stadiou Street in Athens, housed the Hellenic Parliament between 1875 and It now houses the country's National Historical Museum. The museum houses the collection of the Historical and Ethnological Society of Hellas (IEEE), founded in 1882.
