3 Foreword IManEE 2016 Conference is the result of a collaboration between the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Industrial Design of the Technological Education Institute of West Macedonia, Greece and the Department of Machine Manufacturing Technology of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania. It is the 20th version of a series of conferences that first started in 1996 in Iasi as TMCM 96 and since 2013 adopted the name of ImanE.It is the first time it is held in Greece after a proposal of Professor Oana Dodun.This year the field of Energy was added to the program. In the ImanEE 2016 Coference 120 papers will be presented in five sessions, Materials & Mechanical Behaviour, Quality of Manufacturing Systems, Manufacturing Processes & Manufacturing, CAD/CAM & Design and Energy & Environment, concerning field such as Advanced Machining and Surface Engineering, Assembling Technologies, Forming Technologies, Non-Conventional Technologies in Manufacture and Industry, Welding, Technologies and Non Destructive Testing (NDT, Advanced Materials and Construction Technologies, Flexible Manufacturing, Automation and Robotics, CAD/CAM/CAE/CAx Technologies, Mechanical and Manufacturing Equipment, Devices and Instrumentation, Design and Analysis Industrial and Product Management, Quality and Evaluation Design, Product Design and Industrial Design Engineering, Bioengineering and Biomaterials Sustainable Design and Sustainability, Biomass Applications, Smart Grids, Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Energy systems and energy management, Energy policies, Environmental technologies and studies and Renewable energy technologies and energy saving materials. The authors of the accepted papers come from Universities, Research Institutes from countries such as Romania, Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey, China, Morocco, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, Greece and United Kingdom. The organisation of the Conference was a joint venture from a team of people from Greece and Romania who worked hard to make sure the event is met with success. We hope the IManEE 2016 Conference will be a good opportunity for new collaborations among participants to develop that will lead to joint research projects for the benefit of all.
