3 ITINERARY DAY 1 CANADA REYKJAVIK Departure from Canada for Iceland. DAY 2 ARRIVE REYKJAVIK After early arrival we have breakfast and then enjoy a tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula and famous Blue Lagoon. Driving to the Álftanes peninsula we pass Bessastaðir, the residence of Iceland s President. We then proceed to the town of Hafnarfjörður, situated picturesquely on an ancient lava flow and Lake Kleifarvatn, set in fascinating, stark, moonlike surroundings. Near the lake s southern end lies Krísuvík, a geothermal field with powerful jets of steam escaping through vents from deep below the earth s crust, numerous small hot springs, mud pots, boiling pools and other types of geothermal activity. Past the town of Grindavík we come to the Blue Lagoon. A pleasantly warm mineral-rich geothermal pool in a middle of a black lava field, extraordinarily coloured by the rich silica and mineral content, the Blue Lagoon is an enchanting stop in any season. The facilities include modern changing rooms and showers, an indoor geothermal pool and restaurants. We then travel to our hotel in the afternoon for check in and dinner. (B,D) DAY 3 REYKJAVIK All full day exploring the Golden Circle, a round-trip tour encompassing three of Iceland s greatest attractions: the impressive Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) with thousands of tons of icy water thundering into a deep canyon; The Geysir Area, with numerous hot springs, fumaroles and geysers, including the 30 m Strokkur geyser; Þingvellir, a remarkable geological and historic site. Site of the world s oldest democratic parliament founded in 930, the beautiful canyon running through the park at Þingvellir is a Faultline between two of the earth s tectonic plates. We ll also visit a greenhouse and horse stable, returning to Reykjavík in time for dinner. (B,D)

4 DAY 4 REYKJAVIK - COPENHAGEN Morning departure and flight to Copenhagen, the capital of the Kingdom of Denmark. Upon arrival, private transfer to a hotel in the city centre. Rest of the afternoon at leisure - walk along the streets and explore the city of the royal family, and the main street Strøget, with many shops, bars and cafes. DAY 5 COPENHAGEN: NORTH ZEALAND CASTLE TOUR First stop Hillerød. Visit the majestic Frederiksborg Castle, built for Christian IV on three islets Slotssø. It is considered the masterpiece of the Danish Renaissance. It is the largest palace in Scandinavia and symbolizes the power of the Danish absolute monarchy. Indeed the Royal Family resided there and kings were crowned there when Denmark was an absolute monarchy extending to Norway. It has been destroyed by fire in 1859 and re-built later. For its exceptional proportions is often called "the Danish Versailles Danish. Continue to Fredensborg, summer residence of the Queen and make a short stop to admire the castle. Last stop of the day: Helsingør. Explore the old town and the Kronborg castle. Located on a strategically important site of commanding the Sund: stretch of water between Denmark and Sweden, Kronborg Castle in Helsingør Royal (Elsinore) is of immense symbolic value to the Danish. It also played a leading role in the history of northern Europe in the XVI th and XVIII th centuries. The outstanding Renaissance castle construction began in 1574, and its defences were reinforced according to the uses of military architecture of the time, at the end of the XVII th century. It has remained intact to this day. The Kronborg Castle is known as Elsinore, part of Hamlet, the most famous of Shakespeare's tragedies. Visit the famous modern art museum Louisiana after lunch

5 DAY 6 COPENHAGEN - ODENSE Meet your local guide and depart for 3 hrs sightseeing of Danish Capital. Discover the famed charms from the past and present, including the infamous Little Mermaid and the rococo Royal Palace Amalienborg. Walk around Nyhavn, originally a busy commercial port, but nowadays a popular tourist place. Don t forget to notice the house nr. 20, which was home to the famous writer H.C. Andersen. Especially during summer Nyhavn is the perfect place to end a long day. Visit the Rosenborg Castle. Depart to Roskilde. Visit the Roskilde Cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage Site) from the 12th Century. Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, this was Scandinavia's first Gothic cathedral to be built of brick and it encouraged the spread of this style throughout northern Europe. It has been the mausoleum of the Danish royal family since the 15th century. Porches and side chapels were added up to the end of the 19th century. Thus it provides a clear overview of the development of European religious architecture. We will also visit the Viking Ship Museum, which displays the remains of the original Viking ships, dating back to the late 11th century. Continue to Odense, the birth place of the famous Hans Christian Andersen. Please pay attention when crossing the Great Belt Bridge, 18 km long bridge that links together the eastern and western parts of Denmark. Dinner at the hotel (B,D)

6 DAY 7 ODENSE - RIBE Meet your local guide after breakfast and depart for 3 hrs sightseeing of the third largest city of Denmark. Odense is well known as a birth place of one of the world s most famous writers Hans Christian Andersen, whose fairy tales were translated into 125 languages. Visit the H.C Andersen s museum that shows a truly exceptional exhibition, a unique presentation of author s life, words, images and famous private possessions. Proceed to Kolding with a stop in the center to admire the royal castle Koldinghus. Final destination for today is Ribe. Dinner at the hotel (B,D) DAY 8 RIBE - ÅRHUS Ribe, Denmark's oldest city. The history of Ribe is long, dramatic and fantastic. This little town has kept an incomparable charm. A local guide will take you for 2 hours sightseeing of the city, and you will also visit the Viking museum to discover the history of this Viking city and many objects found there. Depart to Århus in the afternoon. Upon arrival to Århus, visit the Moesgård museum with several exhibitions. One of prehistory with stories and objects from Denmark and the region, exploring the evolution of man and of life through the Bronze Age, the Iron and Viking period. You can particularly admire the man Grauballe, the mummified body of a man by peat (the best preserved in the world).

7 DAY 9 ÅRHUS SKAGEN - ÅLBORG Århus, Denmark's second biggest city, young and dynamic city, with a strong student population and the European Capital of Culture in Explore the city with the European Tour and pedestrian streets, the cathedral, the charming Latin Quarter and the lively Vadestrædet, full of cafes and bars along the river. After the sightseeing visit the Den Gamle By museum (The Old Town), a unique attraction - a reconstruction of urban life from the 18th century to the 70s - that will allow you to immerse yourself physically in the past. Continue to Skagen, the northernmost city in Denmark, famous for its nature, as well as for the group of Scandinavian artists famous for their bohemian lifestyle. Return to Ålborg and check in to the hotel. DAY 10 ÅLBORG - GOTHENBURG Discover the city centre and visit Aalborg`s most famous renaissance building the Jens Bang s house from Take a stroll along the waterfront, which recently transformed into the cultural quarter of the city. You can explore the world-class architecture, like the Utzon Center and the House of Music, designed by the internationally known by Coop Himmelb(l)au design firm. Do not miss to taste the Nordic cuisine at a cosy atmosphere by the water. Hope you enjoyed to explore Europe`s happiest city. Today you will leave Denmark and depart to Sweden. Take a crossing ferry from Frederikshavn to Gothenburg. Rest of the day at leisure, free time for shopping.

8 DAY 11 GOTHENBURG Enjoy the orientation tour of Gothenburg, second largest city of Sweden. Enjoy the many restaurants and tourist attractions that the city has to offer. Take a morning walk through the city along the famous Avenyn Avenue, Gothenburg's main street. You can also wander freely and admire the architecture of this city, which with its old trams is reminiscent of a Scandinavian San Francisco. By walking along the waterfront you can see the Opera House. Then continue your walk towards Gustaf Adolfs square, where many impressive buildings like the city hall locates. If you feel to cruise around the small islands, take the ferry to the nearest archipelago and see the characteristic cliffs and fishing villages just an hour away from the centre. In Gothenburg, do not miss to visit the Fish church the famous indoor fish market hall from 1874, it is known as the Mecca for seafood lovers. DAY 12 GOTHENBURG - MALMÖ In the morning you can visit Masthuggskyrkan, the church is a well-known sea navigation landmark in Gothenburg by providing a spectacular view of the city and the harbour. After that have a visit at one of the largest Botanic garden in Europe, an impressive collection of plants and flowers in Gothenburg. Departure from Gothenburg to Malmo at the afternoon. At the afternoon in Malmo, take a visit at Folketspark, Sweden oldest public recreation park full of fun facilities and hosts a little zoo as well. In the old city, at Lillla Torg you have a relaxing Swedish fika break with a coffee and cake in a cosy café at the main square.

9 DAY 13 MALMÖ Meet your local guide at the reception of your hotel and depart for 3 hrs sightseeing with a local guide. Pass through the tiny squares of the old city and have a stop at the famous little square. Many sculptures are to be find around the city, let us know what you think about the Knotted Gun. You will visit the Modern Museum of Malmo - one of Europe s leading museums of modern and contemporary art, with a collection of high international standing. Malmö has one of the most beautiful exhibition spaces in Sweden. Take a visit at Malmöhus Castle, the oldest remaining renaissance castle in Scandinavia, which houses also the Aquarium and the Art Museum. You can see from all side of the city the Turning Torso the tallest building of Scandinavia- neo-futurist residential skyscraper with the height of 190m. Don t forget to enjoy a view of the spectacular Øresund Bridge - an approximately 16 km long road and rail link between CPH and Malmö It consists of three sections: a bridge, an artificial island and a tunnel. RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT: A deposit of Can $800 per person is required at the time of making a reservation on the Special Travel International (hereafter called STI) tour. AIRLINE RESPONSIBILITY: Any airliner carrier providing transportation in connection with these tours is not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passenger is not on board its planes or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the purchase of these tours and/or passenger.
