WELCOME TO DAMEN It is my pleasure to introduce you to our company. My family has been building ships since 1927 when my grandfather and uncle opened our first shipyard in the Netherlands.

Listening carefully to what our customers had to tell us was precisely how my father came up with the standardised shipbuilding concept for which Damen is so well known. Some things never change.

Back then, we worked closely with local clients to deliver them exactly the sort of vessels they needed. Listening carefully to what our customers had to tell us was precisely how my father came up with the standardised shipbuilding concept for which Damen is so well known. Some things never change. Today, we still feel it is important for us to be close to our customers wherever they are, which is why we operate over 30 ship and repair yards, as well as Service Hubs, all over the world. And, just as we started out all those years ago with an eye on the future, we are still looking forwards today, aiming to help our clients and theirs to get the very best possible cruise experience from Damen vessels. 7 INNOVATION BUILDING THE FUTURE Damen has developed extensive R&D programmes leading to multiple ground-breaking innovations. We take an ambidextrous approach; our development activities are focused on the evolution of our portfolio in support of our market-dedicated product groups, whilst our research is channeled into the solutions of tomorrow. Much of this work directly benefits the cruise industry, for example, our Air Lubrication Project. HANSEN is active in all sectors of the maritime industry, but is most known for its newbuild and refit designs of passenger and cruise vessels. Amongst the innovative designs produced by the company is the Phoenix World City. The partnership has been an integral part of the development of the Damen Expedition Cruise Vessel, as well as the successful adventure yacht the SeaXplorer. EVC provides its clients amongst whom are cruise line executives, investors and operators with expert advice on planning and operating for all aspects of an expedition.
