Join us for a relaxing, sun-filled, fun-filled week onboard the beautiful Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines ship, ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS. This ship takes the idea of a floating city to a new level. Launched in 2001 and weighing a hefty 142,000 gross registered tons, carrying 3,114 passengers and 1,185 crew, the fifteen decks are brimming with features and amenities that are sure to make you want to pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming. Some of the newest features onboard this ship provide you an opportunity to challenge yourself on a rock climbing wall that extends 200 ft. above the ocean. If the heat of the noon day sun has you seeking cover you can chill out on the indoor ice-skating rink! When was the last time you performed your triple axel? Royal Caribbean has outdone itself with the Royal Promenade. The ship has been hollowed out in the center for this four deck high, re-creation of a European village street complete with designer shops, cafes, and bars! The ceiling changes color depending on the time of day and it s hard to believe that you are sailing along in the Caribbean as you partake of this unique, engineering feat. There will be parades onboard that rival some of your experiences on Main Street USA in Mickeyworld! The gastronomic offerings are available almost 24 hours a day. They range from casual to dressy and from buffets to full-service dining. The main dining room is amazing and can be accessed from three decks, yet it is connected from within with a gorgeous staircase and a spectacular chandelier. This Louis the XIV style dining room renders you speechless as you take in its grandeur. Every evening you will be tempted with a variety of options for each dining course. Forget your diet for a week and enjoy! For a more casual atmosphere, the Windjammer Café is open 24 hours and offers sumptuous buffets for every meal. It provides an excellent dinner option if you don t feel like getting dressed up. Portofino s is a romantic specialty restaurant that serves Italian cuisine. From your first bite of antipasto to the last spoonful of tiramisu, dining in the elegant atmosphere of Portofino is an evening to remember. (There is a surcharge for this dining experience and reservations are recommended.) Put on your blue suede shoes or poodle skirt and pull up for a juicy burger and fries at Johnny Rockets. This fifties-style diner will have you rockin! The Café Promenade is a great choice for a light bite (wraps, pizza, soups and sandwiches) and for watching the world go by. They have excellent pastries and snacks, too! Oranjestad, Aruba: Aruba is one of the smallest islands in the Netherlands Antilles and Oranjestad is its capital. Located on the picturesque southern coast, it features Dutch colonial architecture in multicolored pastel colors. The charm of the city complements the beauty of this popular Caribbean island where the Dutch and indigenous cultures have merged to give Aruba its unique and colorful ambiance. Today, visitors can either immerse themselves in the culture of the island by walking along the wharf where merchants come to sell fresh fish and produce right off the boats OR you can partake of the beautiful beaches, the excellent snorkeling and exciting nightlife. The downtown area is surrounded by shopping areas for those who like to take home a souvenir or two. Willemstad, Curaçao: Curaçao is the largest of the six islands that comprise the Netherlands Antilles. Willemstad is the capital city of Curaçao and is a fascinating town with centuries of history and amazing photographic opportunities. It gained autonomy from the Netherlands in 1954, but the Dutch influence is still highly visible in its architecture and culture. In the city, you can wander the streets, shop, visit the oldest synagogue in the hemisphere, take a guided trolley-train tour, and stroll over the Queen Emma floating bridge. Venturing further out onto the island, you can discover the Hato Caves, or you can bike through Christoffel National Park, or you can set out on a safari in a two-person canoe to explore the coastline and spectacular cliffs of Curaçao. This island is quite an adventure! Philipsburg, St. Maarten: As the Spanish closed their colonial fort on St. Maarten in 1648, a few Dutch and French sailors hid on the island and decided to share it. This island is unique in that there is a Dutch side and a French side, each with its own cultural ambience you REALLY need to experience both!! You can explore the island s rich countryside to visit the charming villages, hidden beaches, and sites to see, such as a butterfly farm. You can sail on a tall ship, bicycle down a mountain, and go kayaking, snorkeling or scuba diving. Or better yet...try the new Rhino Rider where you tour the coastline on a two-person, ten-foot inflatable motorboat! And finally, the shopping in St. Maarten is becoming a close rival to St. Thomas with imports from all over the world. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas: The treasures of the world fill the duty-free shops of this enchanting, scenic island. St. Thomas delights visitors with green mountainsides studded with pastel houses, white sand beaches looking out on a sapphire sea, home to countless sleek-lined sailboats. Play a round of golf at Mahogany Run, a spectacular 18-hole golf course. Island explorers can go to Bluebeard s Castle for unbelievable views, or relax seaside at lovely Magen s Bay. Visit the nearby Coral World Undersea Gardens which offer a view of marine life beneath the sea. View the amazing aqua-scapes of Buck Island on a snorkeling cruise or enjoy an exciting underwater experience from a submarine, viewing the fish as they weave through the coral reefs. And then, it s back to San Juan, Puerto Rico: The group will have a late afternoon departure from San Juan on November 18th, so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TIME!! Puerto Rico is one of the most vibrant and historically important islands in the Caribbean.
