Cat $ PH Barbados Map by George Louis Le Rouge (made in Paris in 1756) that is 10.7 X 8 and shows the island of Barbados along with a large inset showing the island of St Christopher. The map has been professionally repaired through the middle fold and has some mainly light foxing around the edges, still very attractive and cheap at estimate when you consider that fine examples retail for around L125 or more 29 PH Barbados QV 1/2d surcharge on 1p red p. sty wrapper tied by Barbados AP cancel used locally to River Rd. and then readdr in blue with small boxed TOO LATE h/s in black. Two strikes, light but full. Very scarce use on a local wrapper! 30 PH Barbados QV 1/2p brown p. sty wrapper tied by Barbados Fe 11? cancel used locally to Swan St. with VF full strike in black of small boxed TOO LATE h/s in black. Quite scarce on local wrapper! 31 PH Barbados KGVI 1d tied by GPO 6 MR 39 cds on Crosby cacheted naval cover with photo inset of the USS Lexington aircraft carrier for operation Fleet Problem XX. This operation was personally observed by FDR and involved a simulation of the defense of the U.S. East Coast and Latin America and involved 134 ships, 600 planes and over 52,000 men! A very scarce item for this operation and ship from Barbados! 32 PH Barbados Three small covers to US with black on white censor tape; two surface mail (#s H11,H29-194? and 1943) and one 1943 airmail (#H26 1/6 rate). Airmail cover roughly opened and some folds. Very scarce, as the margin proves these coil stamps came from sheets. The cover has a small scuff around address section and some wrinkles that do not detract from this scarce war tax usage! small registered censored cover (US Passed by Censor/1106 hs in violet on front) franked by block of 4 of the KGV 3 cent orange war tax stamp (SG 118) tied by good strike of the Belize/date unclear/m.o. & Registered double circle TRD in blue to St. Louis, Mo (bs Apr 2, 1919). Very attractive and scarce #10 OHMS env. with Her inserted and His crossed out with KGVI 15 cent (2) tied by partial Belize 17 AU 53 cds to the head of the malaria division of the public health dept. in Honduras (bs) with F-VF strike of the very scarce Official Paid/Col. Sec./British Honduras hs in violet and endorsed & initialed by the Medical Officer of Health.
