1 The Transit Future Plan envisions the region s transit network 25 years from now and describes what services, infrastructure and investments are needed to get there. Area Transit Plan BC Transit has developed a 25-year transit plan and a rapid transit study for the region that has been endorsed by the, local governments and received support by businesses and residents. The next phase of Transit Future Plan is the Area Transit Plan. Existing Transit etwork Transit etwork: s Regional Transit Future Plan Rapid Transit etwork: Exclusive Corridor Priority Corridor Transit etwork: s Regional Transit Mode Share 6.3% Transit Mode Share 12% Transit service options have been developed based on analysis and previous public engagement. The following boards highlight the trade-offs between various options. ext Steps Your feedback will help us develop recommendations to the Transit Commission on how to improve existing services and identify future service needs. 2 Area Transit Plan Area Transit Plans are being developed for transit to specific areas and neighbourhoods within Greater. Desire for better local service to key locations within Oak Connect orth and South Oak to ensure residents can travel to local destinations, such as Willows and the library 2. Desire for increased frequency on frequent transit network corridors Increase weekend frequency on Oak Avenue Increase weekend and weeknight service on Foul Road Increase frequency at peak times to address passenger pass-ups on school oriented routes 3. Desire for a transit hub to provide more local and regional connections Provide more choices to travel to destinations without going downtown Preference to transfer to more direct service rather than travel on circuitous routes
