Box 533 Kaukauna, WI Thank you for inquiring about an apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 400. Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction. Trade Day School Hrs. Night School Hrs. On-The-Job Hrs. Plumber Steamfitter Pipe Fabricating (Fabricator) HVAC/R Service (Steamfitter) The apprenticeship is five years in length. Tuition for day and night school is included with your membership in Local 400 as long as you are a member in good standing and keep a C or better average. Enclosed in this packet is the application for membership to UA Local 400 that you requested. The first step is to fill out the application and return to the postal address or address on the application. Your completed application will be shared with signatory contractors that are looking for applicants. In addition, you may apply to one of our signatory contractors (a list is enclosed), keeping in mind that your chances of procuring employment increase if you directly apply with several of our signatory contractors. Once you procure employment, you will then need to pass a drug test. The state of Wisconsin is always encouraging us to recruit women and minorities, so we ask that you fill out the Apprentice Application EEOC Supplemental Information page in this packet. Optional Dental Rate is $.72 per hour pre-tax. *Apprentices in Year 1, 2 & 3 receive a dues rebate that is added to their base rate. **Includes Market Recovery, WPTA Fund and Working Dues Assessment and should be listed as above on pay stubs. ***Industry Advancement is set to $0.00 for some UA National Agreements (Fabrication Shops).
