2 Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Jim Bowie Chapter Trace Information/Equipment List Old Timer We would like for all Jim Bowie Chapter Members to attend the Jim Bowie Chapter Trace! Young Buck or Old Timer, Current or Been Absent for awhile, we have an event for all! We are looking to have a Relaxing, Spiritually Uplifting, and Fun time at this year s Trace. We will have Great Spiritual Fellowship, Frontier Adventure, Buckskin/Wilderness Advancement, hold skill contests, and have Frontier Skills demonstrations and workshops. The Jim Bowie Chapter Trace will be a Thursday thru Monday Camping Trip. Registration will start at the Twin Lakes Camp in Woodworth, La. at 6:30PM on Friday Evening January 18, 2019 and we will be leaving on Monday January 21, 2019 before Noon. If you are going through or helping with Wilderness Testing (Wilderness Members Only can help, others can set up camp), please be there by 11:00AM Thursday January 17, Wilderness testing will start at 1:00 PM on Thursday January 17, Candidates for Wilderness will have their Thursday evening meal ingredients provided for them. Please insure you are on time or you may be disqualified for continued testing. We will be holding a Frontier Adventure at the Twin Lakes Camp in Woodworth, La. starting at 7:00PM on Friday Evening January 18, If you are going through or helping with the Frontier Adventure, please be there by 5:30PM January 18, It will finish by noon Saturday. If you are going through or helping with Buckskin Testing (Wilderness & Buckskin Members Only can help, other can be at camp), please be there by 7:00AM Saturday January 19, Buckskin testing will start at 8:00AM on Saturday January 19, Saturday January 19, 2019 starting at 1:00PM, there will be a Trades Row coordinated by Eric Eastern Wind: Sullivan. For Saturday afternoon, the many skills by our membership will be demonstrated and mentored to those with a willingness to learn. Saturday January 19, 2019 starting at 2:00PM, Mechanical Bull Riding Contest!!! Saturday January 19, 2019 Supper will be a communal event for all members and guests. It will be part of the cook-off event! The meal for Friday Evening is on your own unless you are part of the Frontier Adventure. Saturday Breakfast is on your own. Saturday lunch is on your own unless you are part of the Frontier Adventure. Saturday dinner is a communal meal with everyone providing parts of the meal. Sunday breakfast is on your own. Sunday lunch is a communal meal with everyone providing parts of the meal. Sunday dinner and Monday Breakfast are on your own. This will allow us to have no charge for the meals! We will have a community cooking competition for the Saturday evening meal. The chapter will vote on the best meal and receive prizes for their places. There will be a first- third prizes given, all meal shell be cooked on the fire on location, nothing can be pre-cooked. The rules are good your best meal or desert. Saturday 19, 2019 will start the Trace proper. We will have a couple of competitions Saturday afternoon and finish the rest Sunday morning. We will have a church service Sunday morning at 8:30AM, then the business meeting, and then the Trace will continue. It will run to Sunday afternoon. Prizes will be distributed after a communal lunch and all competitions are over. Those that need to leave will have help packing up. The rest will look forward to another great night at Twin Lakes Camp. If you are planning to test for advancement to Buckskin please contact Tye 4 Winds Shepherd or for Wilderness Bryan BuckTracker Boudreaux ASAP to insure you have the proper qualifications, application, workbooks, and items needed to go up for testing. The Buckskin Fee is $ The Wilderness Fee is $30.00 and the applications must be sent by Bryan 2

3 BuckTracker Boudreaux to the Territorial Rep before December 31, The current applications & Workbooks are on the National FCF Website. You will need to download the application, and have it filled out. Please check the new requirements! Send the Wilderness application to Bryan BuckTracker Boudreaux with the $30.00 fee so he can get it in in time. Buckskin applications need to be sent to Tye 4 Winds Shepherd by December 31, 2018 to insure you have time to complete the Buckskin workbook! Please remember that you must have your NMLRA Muzzle loading Education Card in order to shoot at the Trace. The Jim Bowie Chapter Trace Fee is $25.00 for Young Bucks and $25.00 for Old Timers. All Jim Bowie Members have a $5.00 per day Campground fee. The Total Trace/Campground Fee is $50.00 for Young Bucks and $60.00 for Old Timers. Guests have a $16.00 Campground fee. Dues are due at the Trace. They are $15.00 for Young Bucks (under 18) or $25.00 for Old Timers. Dues are now for September 2016 thru August They can also be paid online at the District A/G web site or the LARR.ORG website! Total for Young Buck with dues is $25.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee Dues = $ Total for Young Buck without dues is $25.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee = $ Total for Old timer with dues is $25.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee Dues = $ Total for Old timer without dues is $25.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee = $ Total for Guest is $10.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee = $ Total for Young Buck Frontier Adventure Candidate is $25.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee + $40.00 Frontier Adventure Fee = $ Total for Old Timer Frontier Adventure Candidate is $25.00 Trace Fee + $10.00 campground fee + $50.00 Frontier Adventure Fee = $ Thursday is Wilderness testing and Vigil. Friday evening is Registration & Frontier Adventure. Saturday is Registration, Frontier Adventure, Buckskin testing, Frontier Skills Demonstrations and Workshops, Fellowship, starting Trace, and communal supper. Saturday evening is the Council Fire Service. We will have a Church Service Sunday morning, the Jim Bowie Chapter Business Meeting, Frontier Skills demonstrations and workshops, Trace Competitions, and the Sunday communal lunch. We will have competition for Jim Bowie Chapter Assistant Scout along with the 4 LA Region Scouts this year. If you want to try for one of the Scout positions, you must have your application filled out and turned in at registration. The Scout Applications can be found on the National FCF Web Site. We will dismiss after awarding Trace prizes and any final announcements Sunday. You are welcome to stay and fellowship Sunday night and leave Monday morning. For Young Bucks, please be sure to bring the following completed forms or you will not be allowed to stay: FCF Trace Medical Release and Permission Form and the Health History Form. You must have the Knife and Black Powder Permission Form signed in order to participate in these events. For Old Timers, please be sure to bring the completed Health History Form. You will turn in this form sealed in an envelope at the FCF Function. It will be kept in a safe place. It is only to be used in emergencies by authorized personnel. It will be returned unopened if not needed at the end of the function. You will also be required to bring the signed Leader s Code of Conduct Form or you will not be allowed to stay! This is the same form required for Adventure Camp. There is included the Jim Bowie Data Sheet. This needs to be filled out and turned in at the Trace. We need the most updated data on all of our members to have the records to run the best Chapter in the Territory. Remember that we are camping outdoors in January in Louisiana!!!! We could have moderately cool, sunny, rainy, very cold, sleet, snow, or any combination of the proceeding weather. Be READY for any weather situation. FCF Outfit required for FCF Buckskin and Wilderness members - includes tomahawk, choker, pouch, etc. 3

4 If you do not have a FCF Outfit, the uniform is weather appropriate clothing for the campout. The Royal Rangers uniform or vest will not be needed, so do not bring them. The non FCF clothing is jeans or long pants, long underwear, sweatshirts, T- shirts, coats, warm headgear, woolen cap, wool socks, combat boots or other comfortable warm footwear, rain coat and rain boots, and any other outdoor winter clothing. Please bring an extra pair of shoes if available. Remember to layer your clothing as it may be warmer during the day and very cold at night. Bring a towel and washcloth. Showers at the Royal Rangers Resource Center are available. Bring several changes of underwear and extra socks. Bring toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.). Medicines for Boys Boys or designated leaders will be responsible for them. Put in Ziploc bag with instructions. Leaders will oversee medications. Label the bag with the boy s name on it. Sleeping Equipment: Bring sleeping gear suitable for the temperature we will encounter. Summer weight sleeping bags are not enough by themselves. Bring several wool or acrylic blankets as well in case the temperature drops below freezing. Army Surplus wool blankets work great. Bring a Frontiersman style tent (if you have one), FCF gear, and a cot. We will have the Chapter tents for those who do not have a tent. Bring a flashlight, Bible, notebook, pencil or pen, required forms, and FCF items. **Cameras are allowed for picture taking at the services and events. However, the owner or user is responsible for the camera.** Everyone show up with the expectations of growing closer to God, having great Fellowship, and having a Fun time. 5 Frontier Adventure Candidates It is with great joy that we welcome you to the Frontier Adventure of a lifetime that is Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship! We sincerely hope and pray that this will be the start of a great Godly adventure in your life. FCF embodies the Servant Leadership you have been hearing about in Royal Rangers. The Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Frontier Adventure is the only time each year that new candidates who have completed the requirements for membership are brought into the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship. Your Frontier Adventure will be starting at 7:00PM on Friday Evening January 18, To attend the Frontier Adventure on Friday Evening January 18, 2019 at Twin Lakes Camp Woodworth, La., you must complete all of the requirements for joining Frontiersman Camping Fellowship as outlined in the new FCF Frontiersman Application, fill out the FCF Frontiersman Application from the National FCF Website ( ), bring the completed application with you to the Frontier Adventure with appropriate fees ($40.00 per Young Buck and $50.00 per Old timer with checks made out to Jim Bowie Chapter the Frontier Adventure fee also includes one year s dues), print out the appropriate Young Buck/Old Timer Packet from the La. RR Web site ( ), bring everything on the Equipment list, fill out the appropriate forms, and plan to have a great time. If you are staying for the Jim Bowie Trace, the Trace Fee will also need to be paid which is $35.00 for both Young Bucks and Old timers. Candidates: sleeping bag, cot, extra blankets, sharp pocket knife, pencil or pen, notebook (8" x 5-1/2"), FCF Handbook (read book before arrival), New Testament or full Bible, candle - 6" long, matches, 2 candy bars, and 1 can of beans. You will be staying in the Chapter tents Friday night. Please notify Rev. 6 Royal Rangers Leader s Code of Conduct 1. Abide by the Royal Rangers code. 2. Abstain from the use of harmful drugs or stimulants such as tobacco or alcohol, etc; live as an example of a Godly Christian leader. 3. Be in harmony with the Assemblies of God constitution and by-laws regarding one's beliefs. 4. Attend the staff meetings on schedule. 5. Cooperate with the FCF executive staff and leaders over you. 6. Be ready to assist in events as requested by the FCF staff. 7. Register upon arrival on the grounds or after camp setup. Camp Commander will issue instructions depending upon arrival time. 8. Obey all speed limits, traffic regulations and parking regulations. 9. Show respect for, and protect equipment belonging to others. 10. Take responsibility for disciplining the boys according to the stated policy enclosed. 11. Show respectful, loving concern for other leaders and the Royal Ranger boys. 12. Be aware of the socially accepted manner of contact with the boys expressed in the following regulations. Avoid any action that might be construed by others to be inappropriate: a. Make no physical contact unless in public view of others. b. Do not be alone with any one boy for any length of time. c. Do not touch, pinch, or slap below the belt or above the knee, or give a pat on the buttock for good performance as is done in some sporting events. d. Respect the boys need for privacy. e. Do not be in the shower house or toilet area alone with a boy. f. Wear pants or shorts in the shower house and instruct the boys to do the same. g. Do not stare, gaze, etc. at anyone in the shower. h. Exhibit complete modesty. Be fully dressed in public when outside of your tent. i. Shorts are not allowed outside of your campsite except in the bath house. 13. Demonstrate good sportsmanship in competition. Remember, the events are designed for the boys. 14. Read all the information distributed pertaining to the FCF event. 15. Have your pastor's approval to participate and sign the Leader's Certification Form included in the registration packet. *** A copy of this form should be left at the church *** 6
