DAY 1: FLY TO TEXAS Unpack and settle in for a comfortable three-night stay. Our accommodations are at the Drury Plaza San Antonio River Walk. Tonight, become acquainted with your fellow travelers and prepare for our great adventure together. DAY 2: SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS This morning experience native culture and way of life at two of San Antonio s largest and best preserved missions, San Jose and San Juan. During our visit we meet some of the natives of the area. We will hear traditional music while they perform native dances, see displays of some of their beautiful folk artwork, and try a sample of their traditional foods. Afterwards we head south to the Sandy Oaks River Walk Flatboat Excursion Olive Orchard. Known by locals as the Mediterranean of Texas, we will tour the orchard and learn how olive trees grow. They will teach us how some of their most well known products are made complete with tasting samples. We stay at the orchard and enjoy a delicious WOOD TV Welcome lunch before returning to San Antonio. Later we board a flatboat for a delightful excursion along the Paseo del Rio canal. Gain a unique perspective of the River Walk while the captain entertains us with fascinating stories of San Antonio s past. B,L DAY 3: THE ALAMO History comes to life as we view Alamo: The Price of Freedom at the IMAX Theatre. Be transported back to 1836 Courtesy of The National WWII Museum National WWII Museum as the 13-day siege of the rise and fall of the Alamo is presented on the big screen. Afterwards, we visit the famous landmark and stroll its beautifully landscaped grounds. Lunch today is included at the historic Menger Hotel. The property opened in 1859 and is well known for being the location Theodore Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders. There is free time this afternoon to enjoy all San Antonio has to offer. Browse the many shops in the historical arts center of San Antonio, La Villita, or dine in any of the delicious restaurants along the River Walk. B,L DAY 4: SPACE CENTER HOUSTON Enjoy a delicious included breakfast before departing San Antonio for Lake Charles, Louisiana. En route we stop at Space Center Houston to learn about both the history and future of America s space-flight program, NASA. Explore the hundreds of things to see and do at the Space Center through their many exhibits, films and live shows, extensive galleries, Independence Plaza, the NASA Tram Tour and more. Later, we check-in to our accommodations for two nights in Lake Charles. B DAY 5: LAKE CHARLES Our morning begins as a guide joins us while we explore the untamed natural wonders of the Creole Nature Trail. Journey into one of America s Last Great Wildernesses, passing by marshland, beaches, and exotic animals. We then make our way to the Cameron DAY 6: NOTTOWAY PLANTATION This morning we enjoy a visit to Avery Island where we learn and see firsthand the only Tabasco production facility in the world. Afterwards, elegant days of yesteryear are revealed during our visit to Nottoway Plantation, the South s largest remaining Antebellum mansion. One of the few to survive the Civil War, this 64-room, three-story, palatial mansion was completed in 1859 and has been fully restored to its original grandeur. We enjoy a delicious included lunch at Randolph Hall on the plantation grounds. Our accommodations for the next three nights are in New Orleans. B,L DAY 7: NEW ORLEANS SCHOOL OF COOKING An expert local guide joins us this morning for a fascinating city tour as we discover the charm of New Orleans. This afternoon head down the mighty Mississippi on the Steamboat Natchez river cruise, complete with live narration and jazz music. This evening learn from a trained chef about popular Cajun and Creole dishes of Louisiana cuisine at The New Orleans School of Cooking. Get an up-close demonstration of different cooking styles and techniques while learning about the history and folklore of native cuisine. Our lesson is complete with a sample of each of the dishes we learn about in the demonstration. D DAY 8: JAZZ BRUNCH & WWII MUSEUM We depart our hotel for a special Jazz Brunch at the world-renowned Court of Two Sisters. 4 GENERAL INFORMATION Guaranteed Prices Holiday Vacations published tour prices are based on the rates known at the time of publication and are expected to be in effect at the time of departure. Once we have received your deposit, your price is guaranteed and any subsequent price increase is at our expense. Reservations Make reservations well in advance. Space requested by phone will be held for five business days pending receipt of the required deposit by mail, telephone or in person. Reservations made after the indicated final payment due date must be paid in full at the time of reservation. $200 Deposit Per Person A deposit must accompany all reservation requests. Personal check, money order, Discover, MasterCard or VISA are acceptable forms of payment. The deposit and all payments made are fully refundable prior to the final payment due date. Final Payment A balance due date and amount will be indicated on your tour statement. We accept credit cards but appreciate final payments to be made by check or money order. Special Requests Individual requests must be made when booking. Requests for (non) smoking, special dietary needs, and adjoining, handicap accessible or other room types are subject to confirmation and cannot be guaranteed. Hazardous Materials Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials. Examples: Paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gases, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals. There are special exceptions for small quantities (up to 70 ounces total) of medicinal and toilet articles carried in your luggage and certain smoking materials carried on your person. Reservation Changes Requests for changes in flight schedules, early or extended hotel stays or for other eligible components of the tour should be made prior to the final payment date. A non-refundable processing fee of $50 per person will apply for any change requested prior to the final payment date and $100 per person for any change requested on or after the final payment date. These fees are in addition to any costs or penalties from suppliers. Gratuities Tips for all the included features of your tour (baggage handling, included meals, etc.) will be taken care of by your Tour Director. Tips for meals on your own or for other services are at your discretion. Customary tips for the Tour Director & Driver are on a voluntary basis and given individually. Gratuity guidelines will be provided with your tour documents. Activity Level There isn t a universal standard for rating tour mobility requirements, however, to help evaluate if a tour is right for you, Holiday Vacations has designated a rating system that identifies the average activity level for the entire tour. Activity levels are based on an expectation of general health and mobility. We are using a sliding scale based on Level 1 being the easiest and Level 5 being the most challenging. With Level 1, expect to climb some stairs, navigate slight slopes, stand for reasonable periods and walk over relatively level conditions. With Level 5, expect a high activity level with challenging conditions, lots of walking, uneven surfaces, and possibly high altitudes. As a participant on any Holiday Vacations tour, you must be able to navigate your way in and out of airports with your own luggage. Airport personnel can provide wheelchair assistance upon request. You must also be able to handle your own carry-on bags. This includes on airplanes, on and off motorcoaches and to and from hotel rooms. Your checked baggage will be handled for you at group hotels. If you require mobility assistance, you must be accompanied by an able companion who is capable of, and totally responsible for, providing the necessary assistance. Holiday Vacations does not provide personal attendant services. The ability to perform assorted levels of activity while traveling varies between each individual. Although we welcome your questions regarding the amount of activity on any tour, Holiday Vacations is unable to determine your travel health and fitness level. Please consult your doctor with questions when evaluating your ability to travel.

5 ALASKA TRAVEL INDUSTRY Insurance Holiday Vacations recognizes the value and importance of travel insurance for our customers. We offer an optional Travel Protection Plan, which includes accident and sickness coverage, baggage protection, trip interruption and cancellation insurance. An insurance brochure will be mailed with your first statement or may be requested in advance. If you would like to purchase the insurance, please contact Holiday Vacations to initiate insurance coverage and protection prior to the final payment date of your tour. Processing fees for a voluntary change in airport departure or for other requested changes are not covered by this insurance. Insurance must be paid for on or before your final payment due date. Solo Travelers Holiday Vacations welcomes solo travelers. We will try to assist in arranging a roommate for any person wishing to share accommodations at the double occupancy tour rate. Should a shared arrangement not be available, the single price applies. Triple & Quad These accommodations are usually in rooms with two double beds. A rollaway bed or cot is subject to availability on a request basis. Reservation Name/Identification The requirement to collect your date of birth, gender and full name as it appears on the government issued photo identification you will use on your tour is federally mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. TSA s privacy policy as well as additional details, can be found at using the keywords Secure Flight. Passport Required (FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL) Your Passport must be valid for 6 months from the end date of your tour. It is Holiday Vacations policy that all tours traveling outside of the United States require a valid U.S. Passport in the form of a Passport book. Passport cards and enhanced driver s licenses are NOT acceptable forms of identification for any Holiday Vacations tour traveling outside of the United States. Travel to Canada: Even with a required Passport, Canada considers people with certain criminal records as inadmissible. Canada classifies DWI s, DUI s and OWI s as felonies and considers a person inadmissible if they have one of these in the past years on their record. Other offenses such as multiple DUIs, theft or assault can bar entry even if committed decades ago. More information can be found at or through your lawyer. Holiday Vacations does not accept any responsibility and travel insurance will not cover losses or expenses due to inadmissibility or an individual s legal status. Tour Documents Tour packets will be mailed at least ten days before your tour departure date. This material includes tour pickup location and time, a tour itinerary, hotel list and luggage tag. Train Routes & Schedules Please note that train schedules and/or routes are subject to change by railroad passenger services. No liability shall be incurred by Holiday Vacations for subsequent changes to train schedules and/or routes. Cruise Line Charges Additional fees applied by the cruise lines are not included in your tour price. These fees include but are not limited to: daily service charge for cabin & wait staff, specialty restaurant cover charges and optional shore excursions. Photography & Video on Tour Holiday Vacations reserves the right to take photographs and/or videos on any of its tours and to use such records for promotional and/ or commercial purposes. Checked Luggage Each guest is allowed one suitcase which will be handled for you at hotels. The cost of checking luggage with the airlines is the responsibility of each guest (charged by and paid directly to the airlines). An excess fee or handling charge Width may be collected by the airlines for each piece over the designated size (length+width+height=62 ) and weight (50 lbs). Length In addition to your suitcase, each person is allowed one soft sided carry-on, intended for Height A S S O C I A T I O N items you need on a daily basis. We recommend a small day bag, such as a soft-sided backpack. To avoid any charges, the carry-on must fit into the overhead bins of a motorcoach (smaller than airplane overhead bins). You may also bring one personal item, such as a camera bag, briefcase or purse. Carry-ons are your responsibility to handle and cannot be stored under the motorcoach. Additional pieces of luggage will be handled for you at hotels at $4 per bag, per day or at the another cost specified for some tours.
