Dec 8th Christmas Party (Maria) ETC Memorial at the Dalzells August 12th & 13th Once again, the high days of summer will find us again in Garden Valley at the lovely home of Cliff & Marge Dalzell for the ETC Memorial. If you ve been before, nothing else needs to be said...if you ve never been, you won t want to miss your chance this year. As an added bonus (as if we need more!) Garden Valley will be holding the annual Music in the Mountains Festival, a two day country Bluegrass festival during the weekend. As in the past, the Dalzell's have 5 extra beds (although I d bet they are already spoken for!) and plenty of room for RV s and tents. If you would like to drive your RV up before Saturday so you can drive your British car up, just let them know. Cliff & Marge will be your chefs, but they will need a good count so everyone needs to RSVP to by August 1st. As this is the first year that the event is not paid for by the ETC seed money, there will be a charge to cover the feast that Cliff & Marge put on. $7.50 each ($15.00 couple) will cover you for the whole weekend, which, if you ve tasted their cooking, is a bargain! Drinks are up to you (BYOB), although I m sure there will be plenty at the Bluegrass festival! Six miles up the Middle Fork Road (pavement all the way), 32 Riffle Lane, Garden Valley. We ll caravan from the Tully s Coffeehouse, Ustick & Eagle Rd at 0830 for a drive to Crouch and breakfast at the Longhorn Restaurant. 3 4th of Thompson s Where were you when the rains came? The stage was set for a lovely day lounging on the veranda, soaking up the rays and cooling off in the pool on a hot July 4th...that is until Mother Nature decided to intervene. Everyone knows it doesn t rain in Idaho in the summer, unless Terry Thompson is having a BBQ & pool party! The rains arrived shortly before most of the guests arrived, forcing the party indoors. No matter, the IBCC adjusts & adapts to all situations! With Rod Nichols cooking the burgers & dogs (and almost asphyxiating in the smoke!) and an array of dishes brought by guests spread across the kitchen counter, we chowed down & chatted while waiting out the storm. The wait was worth it, as the temperature cooled off & the sun came out towards evening, giving us a chance to relax & admire the view. As night fell, the fireworks exploded over Hawks Stadium, bringing an end to a fun evening. Thanks to Terry for inviting us into his home. Found After July 4th Party & **Free Apricots** Terry Thompson has a nice beach towel & two camp chairs that were left at his house, call him to claim them. While you re at it, head over to his house to pick apricots, they re ripe. He ll leave a ladder out for you!

The Meet is held September 1, 2006 through September 4, 2006, on Labor Day Weekend at the Portland International Raceway, 1940 N Victory Blvd Portland, OR (503) Located at West Delta Park, south of the Columbia River off I-5. 5 Love s Labor s Lost Advance your standards (Act IV, Scene III) That is exactly what we did, as four fine examples of British Iron, along with the drivers & navigators, set off from the Me Time Coffee House for the long & arduous trip (about 1/4 mile!) to the Idaho Shakespeare Theatre. On tap for the evening, Love s Labor s Lost, a Shakespeare comedy that shows (once again!) how utterly stupid men can be when it comes to women & love. The tale follows four friends who swear an oath to have nothing to do with women for a period of three years, while they pursue all worldly knowledge. This vow last exactly one day, as all four fall madly in love with the first four female visitors they encounter. What transpires is a humorous tale, as the friends try to woo their new loves, all the while pretending to keep their oaths to each other. The next IBCC Shakespeare outing is September 15th for Spitfire Grill. Pack up a picnic and come spend a lovely evening under the stars, you won t be sorry. Joe Mama s Car Show The caravan to Joe Mama s will leave from the Chevron on Gowen Rd. (Outlet Mall exit 57) at After the show, Bob & Ilene Rousenfell have a drive planned into the Hagerman Canyon, with a visit to an alligator farm and dinner at the Snake River Grill. Please give Bob & Ilene a call so they can get a good head count for dinner

6 The Ales of the United Kingdom Give my people plenty of beer, good beer & cheap beer, and you will have no revolution among them. Queen Victoria S.A. Brain & Co. Ltd. Brewery The Cardiff Brewery Crawshay Street Cardiff, Wales Celtic Dark Ale Since the legendary days of King Arthur, Dark Ales have had a traditional place in the hearts of the Celtic nations. In Wales, the arrival of the Industrial Revolution in the early part of the 19th Century produced the new demands of an ancient people. Refreshing, quaffable ales were needed to slake the thirsts of miners, steelworkers and Dockers, but the qualities of those earlier dark brews were retained. Celtic Dark Ale is traditional dark Welsh ale brewed and kegged by S.A. Brain at the old brewery in Cardiff, Wales since 1882, and was for many years the flagship brand of the Brains range. It has established itself as a firm favorite amongst the people of Wales. A distinctive ale, it is less bitter than most beers of this style and is remarkably easy to drink. Celtic Dark Ale is brewed using a skillful blend of pale and chocolate malts together with whole cone Fuggles and Goldings hops. The nose contains delicate hop and chocolate notes. The palate starts malty with a slight nuttiness but then gives way to a light dry finish that gives the ale its characteristic easy drinking. Celtic Dark Ale remains a legend in Wales today. Lighter than Irish Stout, it is easy to drink yet retains a real depth of character. It is still brewed by Brains today in the same way as it has been for over a hundred years in the heart of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Source: Shakespeare Festival September 15th Come see the comedy, Spitfire Grill at the lovely outdoor Shakespeare Theatre on Friday, Sept 15th. Bring along a picnic dinner & bottle of wine for an enjoyable night. Contact Nathan if Don t delay as he needs a good head count to secure a block of tickets. You can order tickets from the Shakespeare Theatre directly, just ask for the IBCC block of tickets, or mention Nathan s name. Tickets are $32, but if we get enough people, we might be able to get that down to $27.
