1 Newsletter VOLUME 2007, ISSUE 1 J ANUARY - FEBRUARY President s Report As 2006 comes to a close, I believe we can look back and reflect on the good things that happened, and learn from the unpleasant things. The good things far out number the unpleasant, it would be difficult to list them all. A few of the things that I was excited about were a lot of new members with young families, improved attendance at both breakfast and Bingo, etc. and the longest 4 th of July parade ever. The unpleasant things that happened over the past year were few. We had a rash of vandalism that should not have happened, and I believe with everyone watching out for his or her neighbor, we can stop that type of behavior. And last but not least, we had a cold snap that caused us to have a lot of frozen water systems throughout the park. These water systems are designed so they will not freeze if they are shut off and drained. If all the members remember to do that, then the systems will not freeze again. One of the greatest improvements during 2006 will be the completion of our computer system. This system will allow us to correctly count days that the members have been in the park, and if they have more than one lot, which lot they are using. That is why it is so important that the members use the correct gate cards when entering and exiting the park. This improved system will allow us to monitor and make sure that everyone is in compliance with the 270- day rule. We will be using a 24 hour clock, which begins at 12:00 noon and ends at 12:00 noon the following day. That means if you want 24 hours out of the park to count as time out, you must leave before 12:00 noon, and not come back before 12:00 noon the next day, to count as a full day out. Sue and I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. We hope to see you at the Christmas Party and New Years Eve Party. Bill Trautman, President The program for the Gate computer should be up and running by January 1st, Which means you will need to make sure and use your key cards when exiting the park. We will be going to a 24 hour clock starting at 12:00 noon. You may contact the office if you have any questions or need more information. Vice-President s Report I ve been on the Road for 4 weeks now and made it to Lake Havasu. I hope to make Yuma by next weekend. I am looking forward to seeing Ron & Mona Page, Tom & Jan and Orma & James while we are there. I know things are running nicely at Gold Bar Nature Trails under the watchful eye of our ever vigilant Park Manager, Bill Moe. I am sure the Board of Directors are doing a fine job also. I shall return next year already to go with an auction on Memorial Day weekend and everything else that my office requires of me. I hope everybody has a Happy Holiday and great New Year. Steve Weeden, Vice-President Members can come into the Park for two hours once a month for the purpose of checking their campsite without it counting as a day in the Park, but ONLY AFTER their 270 days are used up.

2 IMPORTANT NOTICE Starting January 1st 2007, our front gate key card reader will be going to a 24 hour clock. CHECKOUT TIME will be 12:00 NOON. In order to get 24 hours out, you must leave before 12:00 NOON and do not re-enter the park until after 12:00 NOON the next day in order to receive credit for a day out of the park. Park Managers Report Greetings to all the members. I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a great New Year. I am listing a few items of interest I feel that you, the members, need to be aware of. We will be installing new speed bumps going out of the park, so please remember the speed limit is 10 mph when entering or leaving the park. For any member who has not invested in a fire extinguisher for their RV. I highly recommend that you do so now. I would like to thank all With 2006 coming to an end, I am pleased to report another prosperous year at GBNT. During the October BOD meeting, the 2007 budget was approved. I want to thank the BOD for their approval and support of my requests and ideas to improve the park and make it run more efficiently. The park has purchased a new water tender truck. Starting in 2007, the dues will be increased $10 per quarter with these additional dollars earmarked for the electrical upgrade. Transfer fees will also be increased to $600 with the additional $500 also earmarked for the electrical upgrade. A separate It will be much easier to water the roads and to fight fires if needed. The winter season is in full swing and the weather has given us a few challenges. I want to thank all the employees for the great jobs that they do, we make a great team. If any of you members need help or have any problems, please contact me, I will do my best to try and help. Again, have a great Holiday Season and I will see you around the park. God Bless You All! Billy Moe, Park Manager From ByLaw, Rules and Regulations we would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season. Tammy Morris, Liaison fund will be set up at Merrill Lynch for these monies. This is a 12-year plan and we project the fund will have $175,000 by this time next year. I hope all our members will have a healthy and prosperous year in Dick Engstrom GBNT BOD Treasurer Page 2 Volume 2007, issue 1

4 Administration Annual Report REMINDER It s that time again to WINTERIZE STANDPIPES If you are not staying here Two down and one to go. Where did this year go? I don t know if it went so fast because the snow stayed longer, hot weather and the rains came earlier, or we just had a very busy year. I have been working with the By-law and Rules & Regulations committee this year to update the By-laws. Plans are in the works to hold workshops, so we can present the updates to the membership, and let the members have input for the changes. If everything goes according to plan, in September of 2007, we will be able to vote on the new Bylaws. I hope everyone will plan on attending these workshops. The Employee Handbook has been updated and approved by the BOD. The Sales procedure and forms have been updated and approved by the BOD. There have been several changes made to Section VII, Rules and Regulations. I am still working on Administrative Policy 34. Hopefully I will be able to upgrade it this year. I would like to thank all the members who helped make this Park as enjoyable as it was this year. Thank you to Bill Moe and his crew for all the hard work they have done to improve the looks of the park and getting rid of the D. D. D. trees. Tammy Morris Yearly Report 2006 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU in the winter you need to: 1. Shut the standpipe all the way off. (handle in the down position) 2. Remove hoses, splitters, or anything attached to hose bibs, (faucet) from I would like to thank everyone who helped me work on Don Hoffman s (Mailbox) new covered deck and ramp. They put in a lot of hard work and long hours to make sure Don would have a nice comfy place and an easy walk to his trailer. These people volunteered all their time and energy: Steve Weeden, John Snell, Ron, Danny, and Kendrick Page, Ray Becker, Teresa and Andy Anderson, Joe Morris, Jerry Crozier, Bill Trautman, Bill Moe, Dick Morris. Carol Snell and Tammy Morris for bringing us lunch. Stop in and say HI to Don and look at his new digs. Thanks again to everyone for all their hard work. And all the side walk superintendents Ha Ha Don has been a member for many years and has done many volunteer projects for the park. This was just a small way we could say thank you to him for all his hard work in past years.. Gene Morris Houdini the standpipe. 3. Open Hose bibs to Administration allow hydrant to drain. 4. Make sure to turn off your hot water tank so it won t burn up. Welcome to our new BOD members Char, Orma and Steve. It seems the BOD just keeps getting better and better with each election. For those who missed the Thanksgiving dinner, you really missed a great feast. Thanks to Al, Sherri and all the volunteers who made it possible. The first of the year is rapidly approaching, so now may be the time to start planning for next year. Please make sure if you have more than one membership to notify the office of your primary membership. If you have multiple cards, have the office staff check them, so you know which ones belong to what membership. When you use your cards make sure you key out on the same one you keyed in on. You might want to keep a calendar at your membership to mark on it the days you are in and out. We finally got our new water truck. It is a big shiny red one. It will make watering the roads easier. The updated By Laws and Rules and Regulations will be ready in January. They will be available at the office. Hopefully everyone will grab a copy and read them. From my family to yours have a Happy, Healthy and Safe holiday season. Tammy Morris Page 4 Volume 2007, issue 1
