We still have three events planned, the Xmas Train, The Toys for Tots and our Annual Xmas party. Hope to see you this Saturday for our monthly meeting. From the Desk of the President VICE PRESIDENT S NOTE Tom Leopold Well I didn t reach my goal to get my car done this year even though I gave it my best shot. After all it has only been five years that I have been working on it what s the hurry. Other than I feel like an outsider most of the time when I m at car club and other events, I can t wait to finally drive my classic for the first time. And now that winter has arrived and the car season is winding down I m looking forward to putting the final touches on my baby to be ready by the first event of the 2011 Nor/Cal season. Really all I have is about one month s worth of work to be ready, but time has slipped away with other priorities that have taken over. With any luck the upcoming holidays won t get in the way and I can get some serious progress done before they do. As those of you who know, who have done any kind of restoration on a car before, knows, it is a lot of time and money and hard work. There are times you just get burned out and you have to take a break or your patience gets overwhelmed. That s when tools have away of ending up out in the street and you think about putting a for sale sign on it. Well maybe not that drastic but you know what I mean. So one way or the other I m determined that 2011 is my year and I m sticking to it. See you at the next meeting and Happy Chevelleing SECRETARY S NOTE Hello all, Well I just want to apologize for missing the elections meeting as I ve been unable to get away from work to do more than eat and sleep. Congratulations to the new Secretary of our club! I also heard you guys had a great time at the Halloween Party. I m really bummed I missed that too. As some of you know I have also been working a lot to help out with the high cost of the new engine I am getting for my car. In addition to the new engine, I m getting new ceramic headers and a new, stainless steel exhaust system with stainless cutouts. So I hope to have my car ready for our December meeting but worst case would be for the January 2011 meeting. It should be a great 2011 for my car for shows and fun at the track with all of you guys. With my new suspension and now my new engine my car should be ready for all things club related. I may even drive it down to some So-Cal shows! If I don t see you at the next meeting have a great Thanksgiving and get ready for the Christmas Party! EVENTS NEWS Steve Fox You've noticed that we've gone from Summer to Winter in a matter of days! Don't let that discourage you, especially with the events we have coming up for November. After the club meeting on Saturday November 13th, we're going to make our way to the Good Guys Show for lunch and an afternoon of looking at the muscle and classic cars. Bring some

2 cash for entrance and parking. It's an annual tradition for the club to visit this event. Another annual event we will be taking part in is the San Jose Classic Chevy's Club Toy/Food Drive And Car Show on Saturday, November 20th. This event is held at Cathedral of Faith Church in San Jose. We will meet in the Starbucks parking lot on the corner of Curtner and Almaden at 7:00am and leave at 7:30am sharp and cruise together to the car show. We will be attending the pancake breakfast at the show and being a part of this fun event. Admission is one unwrapped gift, canned or packaged food product. The club merchandise line continues to grow. We have introduced some new items this year like jackets with the large club emblem on the back or you can still order the old school jacket with the small emblem in the front and the club name on the back. We now have special hats for the ladies, pink with flames and the club logo. We have also made arrangements with embroiderers; they will put the club logo on any item you bring them. We would like to place an order for Club jackets. We have orders for 3 jackets, but we need a minimum of 6 to place the order. The train ride lasts about one hour then we will have dinner at one of the nearby restaurant. Members need to purchase their own tickets ASAP as they will go fast. 5 Nor-Cal ChevelleCaminos Featured Car Rich Arlie s 1965 Wagon Ever wonder about your old high school girlfriend? Ever wonder about how she looks today...? Well, Nor-Cal Club member Rich Arlie is still with her, but these days she is more pampered and better looking than ever. I'm talking about Rich's Door Chevelle Wagon. But, as you can see, she was not always in the best of shape. Rich bought his wagon for $300 in the year he graduated from high school and the year the restoration began. This life-long project has evolved from the original 6 cylinder 3-speed, to a 283 with a 4-speed, to a speed and finally to a 396 with a Doug Nash 5- speed. Now the 396 is matched with a 700R-4 auto transmission. The 2-tone paint scheme is 75/76 GM colors Autumn Mist and Silver. As far as the interior... it is a combination of black naugahyde seats and headliner, oxblood carpets and specially designed interior side panels. The first car show Rich entered was a Good Guys event and he said he was shocked when he won "Best of Show"! You check it out for yourself and see if his high school project didn't turn out to be a winner! Today... Rich can be seen cruising, with his family of four, with heads turning everywhere. But even more important, he acknowledges that he could not have completed this project without the love of his wife and the support of many friends. Thanks Rich for your story and pictures. 5

Club members own cars that range in completion from still in buckets to show winners. We are, most importantly, a family oriented club that enjoys the company of its members.
