2 When and Where July 1-6, 2018, The Summit The Summit Bechtel Reserve is located about 1 ½ hours southeast of Charleston, West Virginia, and it sits on the New River Gge National River. We ve invited over 375,000 Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explers and Venturingage Scouts to attend. It is in the middle of a wld renowned recreation area, known f whitewater rafting, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, and me.

6 Program Design ALPS The ALPS Model We are centering our program offerings around Venturing's areas of emphasis: ALPS it is the four pillars around which a program is developed to be a fun and rewarding. What is ALPS? The Venturing acronym f the areas of emphasis is A-L-P-S: Adventure, Leadership, Personal Growth, Service. The Venturing ALPS model is a guide to getting the most out of your adventures as you prepare f your future, regardless of if that may be in college, the wkfce, elsewhere.

11 Training Opptunities We are still wking on trainings to offer. Programs will be offered f youth and adults, using the Summit as their classroom. Desire is to offer programs not readily available f councils and areas.
12 Accommodations and Food Service Housing 2-person tents (f youth and adults), camping by crew, by region Cots are provided, bring your own sleeping bags Showers are ambient with flush toilets, sinks with running water and electricity Food Service Dining Hall and Sack Lunches We have the capability to provide meals that meet various special dietary needs throughout your stay at the Summit, including but not limited to vegetarian, vegan, religious diets, food allergies, and many me. You will be able to indicate on your roster in the registration system any special dietary needs f your unit members. In addition, please note any special diet needs on your medical fms, also identify yourself with dining hall management upon arrival and they will be happy to assist and review ingredients in the different items and review items that are available to you.
