4 6 Tennis Talk Free Clinics The free tennis clinics are offered to Fleming Island Plantation residents who are looking to get involved in the game of tennis. Adult beginner lessons are available on Monday, Nov. 27, at 6:30 PM. If you are interested in attending, you must RSVP with Coach Jack. Euchre Join us at the Amenity Center for a great game of Euchre with your neighbors and friends! We have two different days each month for you to choose from: one for beginners and one for pros. 6 8 October 2017 Book Club Book Club October Book Club will be reading, The Orphan s Tale by Pam Jenoff. We will be meeting on Thursday, October 26th at 11:00 am in the Amenity Center for book discussion. Please RSVP by Monday, October 23 at if you are planning to attend. Seventeen-yearold Noa has been cast out in disgrace after becoming pregnant by a Nazi soldier during the occupation of her native Holland. Heartbroken over the loss of the baby she was forced to give up for adoption, she lives above a small German rail station, which she cleans in order to earn her keep. When Noa discovers a boxcar containing dozens of Jewish infants, unknown children ripped from their parents and headed for a concentration camp, she is reminded of the baby that was taken from her. In a moment that will change the course of her life, she steals one of the babies and flees into the snowy night, where she is rescued by a German circus. The circus owner offers to teach Noa the flying trapeze act so she can blend in undetected, spurning the resentment of the lead aerialist, Astrid. At first rivals, Noa and Astrid soon forge a powerful bond. But as the facade that protects them proves increasingly tenuous, Noa and Astrid must decide whether their unlikely friendship is enough to save one another or if the secrets that burn between them will destroy everything. In November, the Book Club will be reading The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens. The Club will be meeting on Thursday, November 16th at 11:00 am at the Amenity Center. The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens is a mystery novel about a young college student whose assignment in a biography class leads him to investigate a thirtyyear-old murder. He finds inconsistencies in the case and realizes the convicted murderer may have been wrongfully accused. This engaging narrative explores the concepts of justice, honesty, and responsibility as Joe seeks to uncover the truth hidden in the past. Plantation Block Party Join the Plantation as we host our 4th Annual Plantation Block Party! Come join other Plantation residents on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 6 8 pm at the Amenity Center Pavilions & Basketball Courts. Enjoy delicious eats from our food trucks, music, fun games and maybe sing a little karaoke. We will be making yummy s mores around our fire pits! This means if you are a family of 5 and the youngest child is 6, you will need five FIP Photo ID cards for your family to enter the pool, play on the playground, use the tennis courts, etc. If you have moved from one FIP neighborhood to a different FIP neighborhood (ex: you lived in Fairway Village and have relocated to Margaret's Walk) you will need to come create new FIP Photo ID s for that new address as your other cards will be voided. If you have moved in and are new to the Plantation, you will need to come to the Amenity Center to have your photo taken and FIP Photo ID cards issued. This applies to all tenants or property owners. There is different paperwork required for each. New Property Owners: you will need to bring in a copy of your Settlement Statement or Warranty Deed and a photo ID. Tenants: you will need a copy of your current lease, and we also will need the latest version of the Amenity Release Form, signed by the property owner. This application can be found on fipcommunity. com under Resident Information Amenity Release Form. The Realtor or property owner can also call us at and we can or fax them the form. This paper is vital!!! We cannot issue any FIP Photo ID cards to tenants without the Amenity Release Form from the property owner. *Also please note that you will be charged $12 per new or replacement FIP Photo ID card. If you have reached 15 years of age and are still using a Kids Pass, you will need to obtain a new Adult Pass at no charge. This allows you to attend the pool facilities without an adult. However, please keep in mind that you are NOT allowed to bring in any guests under the age of 16! Proof of your guest s age will be required. 13 We re Making It More Convenient for You! The Amenity Center is now accepting Credit and Debit cards! Beginning October 1, 2017, the Amenity Center Office will no longer be accepting cash for payment of New Resident ID s, Replacement ID s, Room Rental fees, Tennis Membership, or Nanny and Guest passes. We will only be accepting credit cards, debit cards and personal checks. 19 New Amenity Center Office Hours Beginning Sunday, October 22, 2017, the Amenity Center Office will be closed on Sundays. Our new Amenity Center office hours will be Monday Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Sunday office hours will resume during the 2018 Pool Season. We look forward to serving you! Fleming Island Plantation Amenities The Fleming Island Plantation Amenities are one of the perks to living at the Plantation! We love having residents join us at events & clubs, utilize the sports facilities and enjoy our beautiful pools. We want to ensure that these amenities are strictly used by FIP residents, annual members and resident guests. These amenities are not open to non-residents unless they are accompanied by a resident.
