1 Official Rules and Regulations of Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet s Surf Season Giveaway Contest NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Eligibility: Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet s Surf Season Giveaway Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, except Quebec and the territories, who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time they enter the Promotion. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Entry in this contest constitutes acceptance of the official rules and regulations as outlined below. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, independent contractors, officers, and directors of Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet and its affiliates and subsidiaries and their immediate family members (spouse/domestic partner, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and those living in the same household of each (whether legally related or not) are not eligible to enter or win. Entry Period: The Promotion begins at 8:00am September 19, 2018 and closes at 11:59pm September 30, Winners will be drawn and contacted on or before October 4, How to Enter: No purchase necessary. Go to or and follow the onscreen entry instructions to complete and thereafter submit the entry form, which includes Entrant s address and agreement to the terms and conditions of the Sweepstakes, including these Official Rules. No entry will be accepted for any Entrant that does not provide

2 all the required information required on the entry form. Please note there are two entry forms for the Surf Season Giveaway Contest. One on Tourism Tofino s official website, and one on Tourism Ucluelet s official website. You can enter the Giveaway by either or both contest pages. Limit one entry per address per contest entry form; multiple entries beyond two from the same address are void. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. PST on September 30, The time stamp used in connection with the Entry Landing Page will be used to determine date and time of receipt. Sponsor will not otherwise verify receipt of entry. All entries become the sole property of Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet and will not be returned for any reasons. Entries must be received prior to the deadline. Although online access and an account must be used to participate in this contest, no purchase of any kind is required. Many public libraries, retail businesses and others offer free access to computers and several Internet service providers and other companies offer free accounts. If the contest is cancelled, modified, suspended or terminated, which Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet reserves the right to do in its discretion if factors beyond its control make the contest unable to be administered as planned, notice will be posted on Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet s Instagram and Facebook accounts, and on the Contest landing pages. Prize: One Grand Prize will be awarded as follows: Round-trip passage between BC s Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island with BC Ferries Value: $183 Two nights of accommodation at Long Beach Lodge Resort + a surf lesson for two, including gear at Long Beach Lodge s Surf Club Adventure Centre Value: $1,400 One gift card for Shed Restaurant Value: $100 Two nights of accommodation at The Cabins at Terrace Beach in Ucluelet Value: $500

3 Two stand up paddle board rentals from Relic Surf Shop Value: $100 Gift certificate for Heartwood Kitchen in Ucluelet Value: $75 The total approximate retail value ( ARV ) for the Grand Prize is $2, and is listed in CDN Dollars as of date of printing of these Official Rules. The difference in value of Prize as stated herein and value at time of prize notification, if any, will not be awarded. The prize stay dates are subject to space availability at time of booking and minimum advance reservations requirements may apply. The Grand Prize must be redeemed before May 31, 2019 Prize does not include any other item or expense not specifically described in these Official Rules & Regulations, and all additional expenses including, without limitation, other travel expenses, if any, are the sole responsibility of winner. Canadian Residents will not be taxed in respect of any prizes won. Only listed prizes will be awarded and no substitutions or cash equivalents or redemptions will be made. Winners agree to accept the prize as is, and entrants hereby acknowledges that Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet has neither made nor is in any manner responsible for liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to prize, including express warranties (if any) provided exclusively by a prize supplier that are sent along with the prize. Prize travel is subject to space availability at time of booking and minimum advance reservations requirements may apply. Black-out dates and restrictions apply. Prize must be redeemed by May 31, 2019 subject to date availability. Other conditions may apply. Selection of Winner: In order to determine the winner of each Prize, a random drawing of all eligible entries received during the Entry Period will be conducted on or about four (4) business days after the end of the Entry Period but may be expedited or delayed in Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet s sole discretion. The random drawing will be conducted by Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet, whose decisions on all matters relating to drawing and winners are final and

4 binding. The winner will need to enter a skill-testing question before being awarded the prize. Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet reserve the right to disqualify any participant or winner and may refuse to give-away any prize to a person who is ineligible or has violated any rule, gained unfair advantage in participating in the Contest, or obtained winner status using fraudulent means. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. If the selected winner does not respond within seven (7) days of notification, they will be disqualified, and another eligible entrant may be selected by random draw as a potential prize winner until such time as an entrant satisfied the terms set out herein and the prize is awarded. Publicity, Privacy & Prize Notification: Except where prohibited by law or regulation, by submitting an entry, entrant grants Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet a perpetual, royalty-free license to use his/her name, photograph, voice, and likeness in connection with the promotion of this and other Sweepstakes, and entrants waive any and all claims and/or rights to receive any royalties or other compensation for Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet s use thereof, unless prohibited by law. Entrants information that Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet collects will not be disclosed to third parties. By entering this Promotion, you consent to Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet s disclosure of your Personal Information internally so that you may be contacted to subscribe to our e-newsletters and notified about special offers and services offered by Tourism Tofino and Tourism Ucluelet. We never sell, rent, or lease your information to a third party. Entrants that do not win will not be notified. General Conditions: The submission of an entry is solely the responsibility of the entrant. Only eligible entries received within each Entry Period will be included in the prize drawings.
