1 Lynnhaven Middle School 1250 Bayne Drive, Virginia Beach, VA Fax: Home of the Blues July 18, 2016 Dear Parents and Rising 6 th grade Bluefish: We are very excited to offer our Bluefish Beginning, a dynamic 6 th grade transition program, to our students on Friday, August 26, We hope this program will alleviate anxiety for parents and students. Most importantly, it will be a fun filled event for your child and launch them on a successful pathway! Students will receive a Lynnhaven t-shirt and other spirit items; transportation to and from the event will be available and lunch is provided. They will also get a chance to try to open a locker! Students will work in small groups, led by a Lynnhaven Leader. These leaders will serve as mentors and continue to work with the students throughout the school year. We strongly urge all rising 6 th graders to attend and ride the bus if they plan on using bus transportation during the school year. Express bus stops are included for your reference. We do not anticipate many adjustments, but exact routes will be posted to the LMS website during the week of August 15 th. Please return the registration below to Lynnhaven Middle School, 1250 Bayne Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia by August 15, Because of the immense planning that goes into this day, we will not be able to accept late registrations. 2 The 2016 Bluefish Beginning will give Lynnhaven Middle School s rising 6 th grade students a chance to get to know their new school and what it means to be a member of the Lynnhaven Bluefish Family! It will be a three and a half hour orientation for rising sixth graders led by Lynnhaven Middle School students and teachers. Please bring only yourself! No supplies, backpacks, lunches, etc. needed! RISING SIXTH GRADERS WILL: Receive Lynnhaven spirit items Review their class schedule and see classrooms Learn to open a locker Learn to get around Lynnhaven Middle Meet teachers, counselors, and administrators Learn about student activities Be provided with bus transportation to and from the event Make new friends Eat in the cafeteria Win prizes!
