1 Tuesday, July 17, P.M. Sturgeon Fairgrounds Queen Rules and Regulations 1. Contestants shall be citizens of the United States. 2. Contestants shall be female and shall be residents of Boone County for no fewer than 6 months immediately preceding July 17 th, Contestants shall not be less than 17 years of age and not more than 22 years of age on September 1, A complete entry will include the following: a. $100 entry fee (non-refundable) b. $10 t-shirt fee c. Completed official entry form d. One 4x6 color photograph ed to the Director 5. Entries must be postmarked no later than July 6 th, Boone County Fair Queen candidates will be required to attend a pre-pageant meeting on Wednesday, July 11 th at 6 pm at Stephen s Lake Park near the East parking lot. All remaining information will be provided at this time. 7. All Boone County Fair Queen candidates will be required to attend the Fair parade July 14 th, 2018 at 9 am. Line-up location for the Boone County Fair parade will be announced at a later date. 8. Boone County Fair Queen candidates will also be required to attend the interview portion of the pageant on Saturday, July 14 th at 1 pm. The location for the interview session will be announced at a later date. 9. A mandatory rehearsal for the Boone County Fair Royalty Competition will be held Saturday, July 14 th following the interview portion. An additional rehearsal may also be held at the discretion of the Pageant Director. 10. Conduct deemed improper to the Boone County Fair, the Royalty contest, or the Pageant Director will be reasons for disqualification and dismissal.
2 11. If the Bone County Fair Queen fails to complete her term, the title will be passed to the First Runner-Up. 12. Contestants who win the title of Boone County Fair Queen are ineligible to compete in the Boone County Fair Royalty Competition any further. 13. For the purpose of scoring, all decisions will be left up to the panel of independent judges. In the event of a tie, contestants will be placed accordingly based on the interview portion of the competition, with the highest score being first. It is important to remember that scores are based on the judge s personal opinions. 14. The pageant director and committee reserve the right to the final interpretation of any rules and regulations pertaining to the Boone County Fair Royalty Competition. All decisions made will be final. 15. The 2018 Boone County Fair Queen will be obligated to: a. Attend all events as deemed by the Pageant Director during the 2018 Boone County Fair. b. Attend the Boone County Fair Ham Breakfast on Saturday, July 21 st, 2018 at 8 am. c. Make appearances throughout to promote the 2019 Boone County Fair and Royalty Competition.
