3 Letter from the 2014 Chairman July 2014 Last month was our annual Mohican trip. I love spending the day on the river with friends and family. Mohican is by far my favorite SP event. This year the weather was awesome. In July we have our Bowling event and Quarterly meeting, always a good time to hang out with friends. In August is our white water rafting trip - sign up soon as there is limited space. This year we are going to Maumee Bay State Park for fall camp. We are limited to the first 44 paid members - this event will sell out. The cabins sleep 11 people comfortably. Information & registration forms will be made available soon. 5 Lake County Captains Baseball and Camp Out Date: July 26, 2014 Location: Classic Park Located on Rt. 91 just North of Rt. 2 Go to for directions or contact Rob Ezinski to have them ed to you. How would you like to see a Lake County Captains baseball game and then, after the game, CAMP OUT in the OUTFIELD?!?!?!?!?! At 6:20 PM we will line up at the right field outfield gate for the dads and sons to participate in the parade before the game. Wear your Senior Princesses T-Shirt and your sweatshirts Each child will receive a Lake County Captains patch at the end of the parade. After the game there will be fireworks so bring ear plugs for your kids. Once the fireworks are over you can go out of the park to retrieve your tent and sleeping bags. Note: (no air mattress, food, chairs, drinks, or stakes for the tents will be allowed on the field). Watch a movie on the big screen for the children. Receive a snack and drink during the movie (included with the price). Hot and cold breakfast will be served at 7 AM. The gates will remain open all night if you need to leave. Restrooms are available all night too. Also wife s and siblings can go. 8 Bike Hike Sunday, August 17, 2014 Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail (Chippewa & Riverview Roads in Brecksville) We will start on the Towpath by Station Road Bridge. There is an option to take a train and bike back. The train is a small fee with bike. The train trip will be an option for those that choose. At Peninsula there is shopping, dining, historic places, architectural tours, a visit to Spicy Lamb Farm & more! There are train stops, but if you get tired of biking wave BOTH arms to let the engineer know you d like to Bike Aboard! Remember waving one arm is just a greeting! Bike Aboard! Staffers load up your bikes & you re on your way. 9 Fall Camp September 26 th to 28th, 2014 Maumee Bay State Park (Oregon, OH) $85 per person Four Bedroom Cabins Reservation Deadline September 6th Each cabin sleeps up to 11 with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Resort activities will be open and available to us, including: Indoor pool with hot tub in main lodge Fitness Center Golf course Hiking Trails Game Room Inland & Lake Erie Fishing, license required. Sandy beach Nature center/boardwalk through Wetlands Friday Fall Fest begins at 9:00 PM Friday night. Take a stroll, meet fellow SP members, and enjoy a culinary treat. Presented by participating cabins. Everyone is invited and anyone or any cabin can participate. If you would like to prepare and host a culinary treat, please let Sam Santabarbara know your culinary treat at or sam_santabarbara@hotmail.com SP will NOT be providing food for breakfast or lunch. We will have a cook-out with SP supplying hamburgers and hot dogs on Saturday at 5:30 PM. Directions: Please see Basically you will take I-80/90 (Ohio Turnpike) west towards Toledo. 10 Cottages Cottages consist of four bedrooms: The first level includes living area, kitchen, bathroom with shower (no tub), and two bedrooms. One bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and the second with two sets of bunk beds. Two additional bedrooms and bathroom with shower (no tub) are found on the second level. One bedroom on the second level includes a double bed and the second is furnished with a bunk and a twin bed. This cottage can sleep up to eleven people. Also includes television, complete kitchen, basic cooking and eating utensils, breakfast table, cable television, picnic table, charcoal grill. Bed and bath linens are included. All guests are entitled to two parking spaces, located in front of the cottages, identified with your assigned cottage number. Each kitchen includes a large refrigerator with freezer, stove/oven, sink, ample countertop space, numerous cabinets, microwave, coffee maker, and automatic can opener. All cottage guests are entitled to enjoy the many recreational amenities available at the Lodge such as pool, hot tub, game room and other activities they may offer.
