It s been a great year, now we have the holidays to look forward to and the expectation of another great year in front of us. The MOB Christmas Party is scheduled for December 9 th at our usual MeMaw s BBQ restaurant. (See added info in the list of events.) January promises to be a good month for car shows. Let s all get out there and show off our MOPAR rides. Super Swap XX is scheduled for February 8 th & 9 th. All MOBsters are encouraged to help. Penny and Pete have been hard at work planning for a successful event. If the good Lord will bless us with good weather, we should have a very successful show. The MOB supported the Garlits show that was held on Nov. 11 th & 12 th. It s always a great show. Penny, Katie & Pete, Cheryl & Frank and I spent the weekend there working. We had loads of fun and helped the FMA with another successful show. Penny and I attended the Turkey Rod Run. With thousands of classic cars in the infield, we were excited and proud to see our own Milo Wilson s car there with a MOB flag wrapped around the radio antenna. Good job Milo! Page 1 of 10 The November Cruisin for Charity was a huge success. We had good participation even though Five Guys continued to be closed for renovations. The next Marco s Pizza dinner cruise will be on December 27 th. All Mobsters are encouraged to attend, enjoy the social hour and the great pizza. Packed light brown sugar ½ C. All-purpose flour 2 C. Chopped pecans 2/3 C. Butter, softened 2 Eggs, beaten Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease muffin cups generously, I use Bakers Joy. Grease them well or they WILL stick. In medium bowl, stir together brown sugar, flour and pecans. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and eggs together. Stir in dry ingredients just until combined. On November 29th, some 22 Mobsters joined together for some delicious pizza along with friendly conversations. The next get together is scheduled for December 27 th. Anniversaries J.J. & Ron Backer 13th Spoon batter into muffin cups about 2/3 full. Bake for minutes for mini muffins or minutes for regular size muffins. Run a knife around the edge of each muffin and pop it out. Enjoy! THE ELDERLY When I worked for an organization which delivered meals to the elderly, I would take along my four year old daughter. She was always fascinated by the appliances of old age canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. One day I saw her staring at a set of false teeth in a jar. She said to me, The tooth fairy will never believe this! THE CHRISTMAS TREE Have you ever wondered how the Christmas Tree got started? When, with whom or why? And what about the customs that go along with it. Did the decorations have meaning? I could go on and on but instead found a website that you may want to visit. It has the answers and more. 3 November s Anniversary Cruisin for Charity Although the weather could have been better, (cloudy and overcast, rain threatening) 105 cruisers came out to support our 9 th Anniversary in giving to the Second Harvest Food Bank. The following awards were given. (Note: No awards from Five Guys due to their cont d renovation.) The Kool Kars trophy went to Don Boerema with his 1967 Chevy Nova. The Auto Zone Award went to Bill and Zack Kratz with their 1955 Chevy Belair. The Club Participation Award was won by the Space Coast Camaro Club. The Callagy Tire Best Wheels Award went to Ryan Sapp with his 1969 Pontiac Firebird. The 50/50 winner, Walter Bush, won $63. Page 3 of 10

4 MOB Membership Dues It s time again for membership renewal dues. As in the past, dues are $18 for a single membership, $30 for a couple. You may renew at the Christmas Party, on Dec. 9 th or at the regular January meeting January 9 th, Mopar Super Swap XX Event T-shirts The t-shirt design will be presented at the Christmas Party, Dec. 9 th. Those wishing to order theirs, may do so at that time. Orders will also be taken at the January club meeting. Jay s New Ride By Bob Anderson Penny and I are sittin around the house watching the Telly when the phone rings. It s Jay Bryan. Hey Bob, would you transport my street rod project for me? It needs to go to Charlie Butterfield s Body Shop. I need him to finish preparing the car for paint. I loaded up my trailer and made the short drive to Jay s house and found a 1950 Dodge Coupe sittin in his shop ready for transporting. We made quick work of loading it into the trailer. It s a short drive to Charlie s Shop..maybe 6 miles. We soon arrive and unload. Arrival at Charlie s Shop in West Melbourne. 340 Six Pack with A/C. Sweet!! Jay has a shop where he performs his magic and I noticed his next project in one corner of that shop. It looks like some kind of Ford Woody Wagon with a flathead V8. It still needs lots of work. 5 The 31 st Annual Sunshine State Mopar Car Show & Swap with Big Daddy Don Garlits The day of travel started on Thursday, Nov. 15 th, to attend the Annual Garlits show. Katie and Pete S. pulled their trailer, Bob and I (with truck camper) pulled our trailer with the Alzheimer car and Cheryl and Frank P. came in their van. We were all prepared to camp and also assist the FMA in the goings on associated with the event. A tent was one of the first things to be put in place. Pete immediately started to help those that were in charge of line stripping for the vendors. Bob placed the Alzheimer s Giveaway Car in its position for the show. Instructions were given to Katie, Cheryl and I as to how register the participants on each day and Frank and Bob were in charge of selling the event t-shirts. On Friday evening, the FMA put on a dance to kick off the weekend event. Cajun food was prepared by a Louisana Mopar Club and a live band was on hand to supply the oldies that everyone could relate to. It indeed was a busy weekend of work but also a time to enjoy, relax and make new friends. Thank You to the FMA for putting on a great show. Page 5 of 10
