1 C Jrone Angel <_ // -,j Golden Gate Transit Safety Committee Co-Chair Sincerely, exiting this transit center and who drive public transit buses for a living, we know better than overall the safest for both passengers and drivers. As the people who will be entering and that would create an unsafe environment for the safe operation of transit vehicles inside and committee at Golden Gate Transit have found this design to have too many safety concerns the idea of a center platform design at Redwood and Grant in Novato. Our drivers on the safety hereby request that Mann County Transit, Golden Gate Transit and the City of Novato vacate outside of the transit center should the center design be used. The side platform design is anyone what will work and what is safe. Kokke Sereie signage and driver training planned for the facility, Mann Airporter staff for the Novato transit stop on Redwood Blvd. in March of Since then, the center platform design has been selected and the design has been refined. On August 18th 2015 Mann Transit staff presented the updated center platform design to Mann Airporter s safety officer and SPAB (School Pupil Activity Bus) trainer. In Mann Airporter s opinion the bus crossover within the center platform design is safe. Based on the sight lines, the slow speeds, does not have concerns about the safety of the crossover. Considering all the factors listed above, we have no concerns regarding utilizing the new plans in the delivery of our service to Mann Transit. We both agree that the following historical details need to be submitted in the Public Record. It has not been decided whether I will present this at the Public Hearing. No stonewalling Golden Gate Transit District s highly relevant criticisms through, despite the safety concerns voiced by over 100 union bus proposals with too little money for engineering studies, second for Mann Transit, bears most responsibility: first for issuing a request for design is the end of a long series of bad decisions. The lead agency, the Working Group, drawn mostly from Mann Transit and Golden Gate Transit discussed three concepts. Each concept was a variation Tonight s decision regarding the approval of the center platform drivers. Mann Transit continues to downplay the W-Trans engineering The center platform design showed up in the minutes of when consultant] brought forward three design concepts for discussion and consideration. These design concepts were focused on a center Gate Transit] noted that he thought he requested consideration of a more traditional side platform concept. 7 The same conflict surfaces again and again. The Minutes of read, Golden Gate Transit expressed concern about the merging capabilities of the buses with a somewhat shorter merging length as a result of the design in Concept 1. Mann Transit noted the improved customer experience achieved in Concept I and that, barring any fatal flaws, should be the determining factor. Mann Transit refuses to see the fatal flaws. Tonight, the Council takes the crucial step to obligate the City of Novato with a heavy liability. Please show your concern for welfare of the people of Novato. Reconsider your decision. 3

9 From: Sent: To: Subject: Marilyn Guerry Tuesday, August 25, :57 AM Novato Council $3.3 Million Rehabilitation Blvd. and De Long Ave. As a resident of Novato I wish to express my opposition to the above project. I am in complete agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1575 A NO VOTE. $3.3 million can be spent more wisely than this proposed white elephant, i.e. more parking, better traffic control, facelift for entire Grant Avenue. It seems as though those in favor are trying to make a Los Angeles Bus Station in a town that doesn t need it or can handle it. I urge you all to VOTE NO. P.S. Train station at one end of Grant Avenue, giant bus station in the middle and what say perhaps an airport at 7th and Grant? Sincerely, Marilyn Guerry 1
