2 i n f o r m at io n October 12-14, 2009 Portland, Oregon Alton L Collins Retreat Center SE Highway 211 Eagle Creek, OR Our Pacific Northwest takes place just outside of Portland. The site is absolutely beautiful, 67 acres of lush forest, a heaven for photography. Joe s s are about who we are when we go to the wedding and what we can do to see more. Why we do what we do and where we take it once we tap into our passion. It will be a wonderful learning, eye, and mind opening experience, not to be missed! Come on board this one of a kind with Joe Buissink. The wedding photographer to the stars will help you find and unlock your passion and direct it in such a manner that you will see and feel everything differently at a wedding. Come and be inspired. This is your opportunity to talk and interact one on one with Joe. Joe will talk about various topics such as marketing, album design, studio workflow etc.
3 sch ed u l e monday the 12th: Joe is inviting the students to a meet and greet at the retreat between 6 pm and 7 pm. This is a good time to introduce each other and get a little background info on everybody (a way of breaking the ice!). Just bring yourself! tuesday the 13th Class will start at 9am. Joe will teach in the morning, break for lunch from 12pm to 1pm, then will start shooting in the afternoon. Students will also shoot. The day will end at 5pm. We will have a documentary movie night starting at 7:15pm that evening. wednesday the 14th Class will begin at 9:00am, Joe will go over the student s work from the previous day, do a critique, then go on with the teaching. After lunch (12pm to 1pm), the students will be sent out on shoots with the models on location. Joe will go from group to group to guide the students during their shoot. Shooting will end at 3pm. Joe will do a wrap up session from 3pm to 5pm. The will end at 5pm. * The above schedule was written to give you all an idea of how the days will unfold. It may change a little depending on the need of the students in terms of information.
4 detai l s The rate for this 2-day is $ Room and board not included. We are currently taking 50% retainer ($347.50) that will secure your slot in the class. Balance is due one month prior to the date on RETAINERS ARE NON REFUNDABLE. We recommend the following places for lodging: 1) Alton Collins retreat (where the takes place) SE Highway 211, Eagle Creek, OR (503) ) Sandy Inn Best Western (3 mi from the location) Highway 26, Sandy, OR (503) We strongly recommend that you rent a car to explore the surrounding. Some of the shooting locations at the retreat are accessible by walking or driving. For those not wanting to rent a car, visit for an additional transportation option from the airport to the retreat. Joe s is limited to a maximum of 12 students.
5 past exper i en ce s I m not really sure what I experienced at your can be put into words. I came to you a decent photographer, one who had never been given permission to grow. I was convinced I would spend the rest of my years in mediocrity both professionally and personally. Being average and just existing was my reality and personally. Being average and just existing was my reality and then I met you. As I sat through your class I realized I didn t need more talent, better gear, better marketing what I needed was confidence and permission to believe in myself. I realized for the first time in my life that it s all connected. My passion and confidence is my work! You pointed at my heart and said you my friend have it that s my defining moment! Joe, you are a better person than you are a photographer, and you are an incredible photographer! You helped me understand that it all starts on the inside. Thanks for profoundly changing my life and I m sure for the hundreds of students who feel just as I do. Best Wishes and Regards, Randy B. Joe had me mesmerized every time he spoke. I warmed to Joe the first time I met him a couple of years ago and despite having already seen most of his images and heard his stories he still managed to make me cry. I don t believe it was just because time I met him a couple of years ago and despite having already seen most of his images and heard his stories he still managed to make me cry. I don t believe it was just because of his photography or his words but mainly because of the extreme passion he expresses in both of these. No other photographer I ve met talks to my emotions as much as he does. Sofie Hi Joe: I saw you speak at WPPI, and just wanted to say that you truly have the soul of an artist. You are doing photography for all the right reasons, and I appreciate the message you projected. With generous leaders such as you, the future is indeed in good hands. With Warm Regards, Edward R. joe buissink 357 S Robertson Blvd Beverly Hills, CA
