3 Marbles Kids Museum Summer s Summer Policies Contact Information Mobile Phone This number is for urgent questions or issues that you have while your child is on the Marbles Kids Museum and IMAX campus. It is a cell phone that is carried by camp staff at all times during camp hours. General Information This line is for general questions or issues, such as registration issues or billing questions. This number is for non-urgent questions or concerns while your child is in camp. Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be made in writing at least two weeks in advance of the camp start date to receive a refund. A $25 cancellation fee per person, per half-day camp will be deducted from the refund amount. Cancellations made less than two weeks in advance will not receive a refund. Rescheduling requests must be made in writing. To change a camp within two weeks of its start date, a $25 rescheduling fee per person, per half-day camp will be charged. Rescheduled camps are subject to availablility. Payment Policy Unless otherwise arranged, any camp balance will be automatically charged to your credit card on, or shortly after, the due date of May 15. If there is no credit card on file, or you notified us that you prefer to pay by check or other means, please be sure all remaining account balances are paid by the deadline to ensure your camp placement. We reserve the right to charge a $25 late fee for payments not received by the deadline (does not apply to automatic credit card payments). Lunch & Snack ers provide their own lunch and snacks. Please send your child with a snack for each camp session they attend (for example, one for morning camp and one for afternoon camp). In consideration of our campers with severe food allergies, we ask that you do not send any food containing tree nuts, peanuts or any nut butters. Sunflower butter is a great alternative to peanut butter. Lunch supervision may be added for any camper by contacting us at or camps@marbleskidsmuseum.org. Boxed lunches are available for purchase from our café as an add-on to your registration and are delivered daily to your camper. Personal Belongings Many campers choose to bring their belongings in a backpack. Others prefer to bring a lunchbox with their snack and drink, including a refillable water bottle. Although we want your camper to have the things they need for a comfortable camp experience, we cannot guarentee the safety of valuables and prefer they not be brought to camp. There are times in the day when campers are not with their belongings and they are stored in unlocked rooms in the museum. IMAX Movies Morning camps for ages 5-6 and older include one IMAX documentary each week. Since IMAX movies are seen very close to snack or lunch time, concessions will not be offered for purchase. Parking Mondays of each camp week, all parents should accompany campers into Venture Hall located in the IMAX building for check-in. After this initial check-in, all pick up and drop off will be in the carpool line (see details and map on page 4). Metered two-hour parking is available on the streets in the downtown area surrounding the museum. Paid parking is available in the City of Raleigh parking deck located on Blount St. beside the museum (pay when you leave), and in the parking lot directly behind the museum off of Morgan Street (pay when you park). Late Pick Up Marbles reserves the right to assess a late pick-up fee of $2 per minute beyond camp hours at the discretion of the camp director. We will charge this fee to your credit card on file, or collect at pick-up. er Expectations Marbles Kids Museum camps are built on respect, community, choice and participation. If a camper is asked to leave due to repeated behavioral considerations, camp fees will be forfeited with no refund. In order to provide the best experience for each individual camper, parents should note any special needs or information on the camper information form so that our camp team can discuss them with you in advance. All parents of campers age 5 and up must agree to our behavioral expectations form prior to the start of camp. Preschool campers must be fully potty trained (no pull-ups). Team Marbles High-quality camp counselors are our first priority. We hire experienced, well-rounded individuals who are more than your typical counselor. All counselors have extensive experience working with children. Each member of our team is eager to inspire campers to be creative, innovative, active and confident. Inclement Weather In the case of inclement weather, please call the main museum number, , or the camp information line, , to find out what time camp will begin. During severe weather circumstances, camps will begin when the museum opens for the day. 3

Our carpool lane runs through public parking spaces. In order to keep from blocking cars in, we ask that you do not arrive early and park in the carpool lane. If you arrive before the scheduled start of carpool, please find a space in the parking lot until carpool begins (see Carpool Schedule on page 2). If the line of cars is backed out to Morgan Street, please circle the block and come back to get into carpool. 4 Hargett Street
5 Behavioral Expectation Agreement Marbles Kids Museum is committed to providing high quality, safe, fun and educational camp experiences. As an important part of this, we focus on the emotional well being of all campers through positive behavioral expectations. Please discuss the ABCs of Behavioral Expectations with your Happy er. Always stay with your group! counselors are well trained to provide safe supervision and conduct frequent headcounts when playing in the museum. Help your camper understand the importance of staying within their counselors supervision and with their group. Be kind and respectful! Making new friends and learning to work together is part of the magic of a Marbles camp experience. Counselors focus on supporting new friendships and creating safe, kind and respectful group experiences. Encourage your child to show kindness and respect through their actions, choices and words. about the museum! Marbles Kids Museum is a special place with lots of special things for children to explore! Part of the learning includes using materials safely and appropriately and then putting things back where they belong after using them. Discuss the importance of doing their part in using materials appropriately and in the clean-up process. Our staff utilizes positive behavioral supports by: Establishing and communicating clear and appropriate expectations Supporting campers in practicing and mastering these guidelines Discussing concerns and strategies openly with the child and his/her family Counting on families to openly share information about their child to ensure a successful camp experience Please share important information about your child with us in writing or by calling the Customer Support Coordinator at If significant behavioral issues arise, Marbles Kids Museum reserves the right to ask a camper to not return.
