1 1818 Society Transport Chapter Summary of the discussions held during the 3rd Meeting Presentation on LinkedIn by Jacqueline Dubow MC C1-200 June 13, 2013 Following a short introduction by Michel Audigé who summarized the discussions recently held with 1818 Society (Lesley Shneier) around the Collaboration For Development (C4D) World Bank platform, Jacqueline Dubow was invited to proceed with her presentation on LinkedIn. The presentation is available on the 1818 Transport Chapter website ( The attendee list is given in Annex 1. After presenting LinkedIn as the largest database of business professionals 1, Jacqueline explained in detail what can be the use of such application, e.g., reconnecting with old friends and colleagues. Jacqueline insisted on the importance to set the right setting for one s profile. For that purpose, the Advanced Settings is crucial to define the right privacy parameters, such as inter alia -- who is informed of any change made in your profile. LinkedIn is also equipped with a quite powerful Search Tool which allows to find the relevant information for any action, e.g., How to edit your profile or find a name in the Database, etc... Jacqueline concluded her presentation with information and guidance on how to create/manage/ join a Group under LinkedIn. To learn more, refer to the last slide of the presentation which provides references to a few learning webinars. Next steps: On receipt of these minutes, all members are kindly invited to send to Asif & Michel: (i) any comments on the content of the minutes; and (ii) ideas and suggestions for the topics of future presentations.
