4 What is a Neighbourhood Plan? It s a tool that outlines a vision for a community and a set of action strategies to address current and future neighbourhood needs. The Plan will provide a clear road map for the future using a framework for decision making and directing public investment for the neighbourhood.

5 The Study Process 1. Background Review: Review background information and identify guiding WE ARE HERE. 2 Alternative Concept Plan (Development/Testing): planning principles for the study. Develop 3 Alternative Concept Plans for the Study; public realm plans, transportation, development potential. 3. Recommendation of Preferred Plan: Create a Public Realm Plan, Transportation Improvement Plan and Implementation Strategy. 4. Finalization of Plan: Prepare and submit final report summarizing study findings.

7 Draft Guiding Themes Enhance the identity and experience of the neighbourhood. Improve the open space system. Manage transportation and improve access to Queens Quay and along the waterfront. Identify improvements to the neighbourhood to make it more successful. Integrate a long-term vision for the Canada Malting Silos. Recommend mitigation measures to limit existing airport operational impacts on the neighbourhood.
