The award was presented by Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Hon'ble Union Minister of Urban Development at NDMC Convention Centre, New st Delhi during e Inaugural function of 21 Annual Convention and National Seminar on Towards Building Smart & Sustainable Infrastructure in Urban Development of Indian Buildings Congress. Habibganj Bhopal Railway Station under West Central Railway is e first railway station in India to be redeveloped into a world class railway station wi state-of-e-art facilities togeer wi efficient passenger movement and traffic management systems. The objective of e consultancy services is to prepare Detailed Engineering Design, BoQ and tender documents for Vehicle Test Track and associated buildings at Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram Dist., Tamilnadu Engagement of Road Safety Expert (RSE) for NHAI. Client : National Highways Auority of India. The objective of is Consultancy service is to assist e auority and provide requisite technical support / advice to develop a robust institutional mechanism for Road Safety, formulate policy, undertake appraisal, monitor and review e process / progress of various road safety related activities. The Road Safety Expert is expected to carry out e responsibility and e auority of NHAI while discharging its function as per is assignment on behalf of NHAI. Consultancy Services for Preparation of Detailed Project Report for e Construction of New 6-lane Bridge Parallel to existing 2-lane Bridge at Phaphamau / Near Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. Client : Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. The main objective of e proposed consultancy assignment service is to carry out e feasibility study and DPR for Construction of Proposed Bridge adjacent to existing 2-lane bridge. The DPR shall include detailed survey, soil testing, traffic survey, finalization of alignment for approval of e Govt., land plans and preliminary design of geometrics, pavement, structures, safety devices, toll plazas, project facilities, finalization of document for environmental clearance & oer statutory clearances, estimation of probable cost of Construction etc. Consultancy Services for Auority's Engineer for Rehabilitation and Upgradation of Jabalpur Bhopal Section of NH-12 from Km to Km to four lanes wi paved shoulders wi Provision of Rigid Pavement on EPC mode under NHDP-III in e state of Madhya Pradesh. Client : Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited. The objective of e study is to review e drawings, inspect & monitor construction work and assist Auority / Steering Group issue Completion / Provisional Certificates. The Auority's Engineers shall be responsible for supervising e designs, construction, maintenance and operation in accordance wi e provisions of e EPC Agreement and oer schedules. Independent Engineer for WCP-5 - Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Maintain and Transfer (DBFOMT) of Existing State Highway Hirekerur - Ranibennur in e State of Karnataka on DBFOMT Annuity Basis. Client : Karnataka Road Development Corporation Ltd. The objective of e assignment is to ensure high quality construction of all works in compliance wi e Concession Agreement and develop and implement an engineering design, which conforms wi applicable standards and technical specifications. Provision of Consultancy Services to Undertake Road Inventory and Condition Survey for Coastal Zone in Kenya. Client : Kenya Roads Board, Nairobi, Kenya. Contract Package 303: Design and Construction of Civil, Structures and Track Works, involving Formation in Embankment / Cutting, Ballast on Formation, Track Works, Bridges, Structures, Buildings, Yards & Integration wi Indian Railway's Existing Railway System and Testing & Commissioning on Design-Build Lump Sum Basis of Khurja-Pilkhani Section (approximately 222 Route Km of Single Line) of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Client : M/s IL&FS Engineering and Contraction Co. Ltd. The objective of is assignment is to study & review Tender Documents and Drawings, carryout site visits, preparation of pre-bid Queries and work out conceptual design and performance parameters and its compliances as per e requirement of Tender Documents. Redevelopment of Habibganj Bhopal Railway Station Habibganj Bhopal Railway station will be a five platform station. It will have six lifts, eleven escalators, ree travellators and ree subways, one of which will be dedicated for parcels. It will have separate arrival and departure areas and dedicated parking facilities for pick-ups and drop-offs. In case of fire, e passengers can reach designated safety points in six minutes. It will also be disabled-friendly. The station will have provision for generating solar energy on its premises. On 14 July 2016 e Indian Railways revealed e first look of a world-class station expected to come up at Habibganj in Bhopal in ree years. The project involves construction of 93 spans each of m having 186 pre-stressed box girders. The girders are cast at yard, transported and launched at e different locations wi e help of launching girder. The cost of e project is Rs crores and e date of start and completion are 05 December 2013 and 04 April 2017, respectively. The progress so far is excellent and ahead of schedule by at least 2 mons. Out of 186 girders, 170 have already been cast and 158 placed in position. 5 CMD's visit to Mongolia Mr. K. K. Kapila, CMD visited Mongolia from 12 to 15 August He visited and inspected e ongoing road and bridge construction activities of Western Regional Road Corridor Investment Program (WRRCIP) project of construction of km road between KHOVD and ULAANBAISHINT (on border of Mongolia and Russia) in e Western Mongolian Region, being constructed rough four independent Contract Packages on 13 & 14 August Presently, e construction works are in progress in ree Contract Packages. CMD visited e entire road leng of all e ree Contract Packages and appreciated e works being carried out by e Contractors and e Consultant's supervision teams in is treacherous terrain and harsh climate at an altitude ranging from 1314 m above mean sea level (near Buyant River) to 2644 m above mean sea level (Buraat Pass) wi limited and restricted working period available for carrying out e works. CMD appreciated e beautiful landscape and e natural surroundings of e area wi lakes and snowy mountain peaks along e road alignment. CMD held review meetings wi e Contractors and Consultant's Supervision teams of each Contract Package separately. He reviewed e progress, hold-ups, obstructions and discussed ways to improve e progress. CMD advised e Contractors to follow e procedures of FIDIC Contract Conditions and e Engineer's instructions. He also advised e Consultant's supervision teams to guide e Contractors' staff wi a view to ensure at e project is completed wiin laid down time. He, however emphasized at speeding of progress should not be at e cost of quality of works. CMD's visit has certainly given a big boost to bo e Contractors and e Consultants.
