FEALAC Business Forum Representative of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking of Thailand will report the results of the Second FEALAC Business Forum held on 20 August 2014 to the SOM. c. 15 The Second FEALAC Business Forum Bangkok 20 August The Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) is an association of 36 countries from East Asia and Latin America that came together for the first time to form an official and regular dialogue channel between the two regions. FEALAC mainly consists of regular meetings held at three levels: the Foreign Ministers, the Senior Officials and the Working-Level Officials. Thailand is honoured to host the fifteenth FEALAC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) as well as the four Working Groups Meetings and side events at the Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld, Bangkok during August The three side events, namely the Second FEALAC Business Forum, Tourism Seminar, and FEALAC Academic/STI Roundtable, will be organized on 20 August 2014 followed by the Working Group Meetings on 21 August 2014 and SOM on 22 August The Second FEALAC Business Forum will be co-organized by the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand under the theme of "Connecting the Two Engines of Global Growth". The main objective is to foster and expand the existing bilateral networks of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Banking and Finance Associations, and private businesses among FEALAC member countries. Speakers will be invited to share their knowledge and opinions on the potential of East Asia and Latin America and ways to boost trade and investments between the two regions. The business networking will focus on the sectors of Food & Agro-Industry, Hospitality, Wellness and Healthcare service industry, and Energy. Study visits to business facilities or factories in or nearby Bangkok on a later date may be arranged upon request to Thai business counterparts. This event will be a great opportunity for FEALAC member countries to share expertise, network, and promote trade and investments between the two regions. In addition to the Business Forum, Thailand will also organize a public showcase of FEALAC member countries at the ground floor hallway of the CentralWorld Shopping Complex during August 2014.
