6 Accreditation and Practical Information Only media representatives who have obtained prior online accreditation with the Federal Press Service are allowed access to the media events of this programme and to the Amalienhof media centre. Online accreditation can be carried out directly on the website of the Austrian Presidency at The accreditation badge is valid for the entire duration of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The online accreditation system contains a list of all the events for which you can register. Please register in advance for the event you wish to attend. Registration for Pool Sessions Owing to space constraints, the number of people admitted to some events open to the media will be limited this is know as a POOL. To attend pool sessions, you will need not only a valid accreditation badge, but also a pool card. To register for pool sessions, please send an no later than 22:00 on Sunday 17 June 2018 to federalpressservice@bka.gv.at. Please include your name, media organisation, mobile phone number and address. Registrations received after the deadline will not be considered. Registering for pool sessions does not guarantee admission. The Federal Press Service will notify you via whether they have been able to fulfil your pool wishes. Accreditation Desk You can collect your accreditation badge between Monday and Friday from the Media Accreditation Office of the Federal Press Service (Schauflergasse 1, 1010 Vienna). On 18 and 19 June 2018, you can collect your accreditation badge from the media accreditation desk in the media centre of the Federal Press Service (Amalienhof, Ballhausplatz 1, 1010 Vienna). 7 Collection times for accreditation badges (Schauflergasse 1, 1010 Vienna): Monday to Friday: from 09:00 to 13:00 Collection times for accreditation badges (Amalienhof, Ballhausplatz 1, 1010 Vienna): 18 June 2018: from 09:00 to 17:00 19 June 2018: from 07:30 to 18:30 To collect your accreditation badge, you will need to present three documents: your accreditation confirmation, a valid press card or the original letter of assignment from your media organisation, and a government-issued photo identification (identity card, passport or driving licence). Media Centre At the media centre of the Federal Press Service in the Amalienhof, Ballhausplatz 1, 1010 Vienna registered media representatives will have access to workstations equipped with 220V power supply and Wi-Fi. Opening Hours of the Press Workstations 19 June 2018: from 07:30 to 18:30 Parking Places and Parking Spaces for SNGs A limited number of parking places is available in the immediate vicinity of the Federal Chancellery for accredited media representatives. Access is restricted and dependent on prior registration with the Federal Press Service. 9 Host Services ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) is the host broadcaster for the Austrian Presidency. It will broadcast live the press conference held by the President of the European Parliament and the Federal Chancellor. Audiovisual material will be broadcast via EbS, the European Union s TV information service ( and satellite reception and can be downloaded in real time via the website of the European Commission s Audiovisual Services at The host broadcaster provides further audiovisual material in broadcast quality (HD) free of charge.
