Commissioner Holmes made the motion to approve the use of Roberts Rules of Order as the basis for governing the MS Gulf Coast Regional CVB meetings. Seconded by Commissioner Wagner, the chair called the question, with the following results: Commissioner Fritz Voted ---- Yes Commissioner Levens Voted ---- Yes Commissioner Westfall Voted ---- Yes 2. Mr. Keating called for Nominations for Meeting Chair: Commissioner Fritz nominated Clay Wagner, being no other nominations, the floor was closed. 3. Commissioner Fritz made the motion to approve Commissioner Clay Wagner as Meeting Chair. Commissioner Wagner called for nominations for the Meeting Secretary: Commissioner Fritz recommended Rich Westfall Commissioner Daniels recommended Danny Hansen Being no other nominee s the floor was closed. 5. 3 Commissioner Westfall Voted ---- Yes President McKenzie being present by conference call requested Vice President Fritz to preside over the meeting in his absence. 10. Commissioner Wagner made the motion to accept the Agenda as presented hereonin. Linda Hornsby, MS Hotel & Lodging Assn, reported on the May 2013 occupancy which was down. She also reported that Coast Vision has been installed in thousands of local hotel rooms. 12. Executive Director Report Beth Carriere Updates, News and FYI S A. SATW planning proceeding nicely. Registration remains higher than Indianapolis last year at the same time! Active Writers: 133 / Other delegates: 174 Staff is still laboring with love on this one. Volunteers are needed to host this group in October. Committee is getting into the production details now as October approaches. Sponsorships are still available! B. Audits are moving slower than I care for. I have asked Commissioner Jerry Levens for assistance, and I have organized a meeting next week with the Mr. Levens, the auditor, our Bookkeeper, Harrison County and MDA. I have been keeping MDA updated as needed or asked. Hugh has kept the County up on process through communication with their Legal Counsel. The goal is to have as many complete before the new Fiscal Year, October 1, C. Mississippi Municipal Association is IN HOUSE! 3,000 delegates. We are a sponsor as well as hosting a welcome booth with unique hospitality and our complementary convention services, in appreciation and business retention. D. NOTE: Budget (line itemed) must be completed, approved by Commission, and submitted for approval to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors before the end of August. F. BP Deep-water Horizon Grant, 2nd $500,000. grant use/specifics request to be submitted to Mr. Nick Gagliano by August. Suggested Requests for funds use: 1. Madam Vice President suggested that the Executive Director fill out the evaluations and recommend to the full Commission. Madam President then stated to wait until Bylaws were adopted. H. Commissioner Descher made the motion to approve advertising in local publications to receive bids from interested Banking Institutes to deposit current balance transfer of monies for the MS Gulf Coast Regional CVB. Madam Vice President discussed the current meeting schedule with the Commission, due to conflicts with current dates, the following recommendation was made: the meeting schedule. 17. Commissioner Hansen made the motion to move the MS Gulf Coast Regional CVB meetings to the fourth (4 th ) Tuesday of each month beginning with the extra meeting being held July 23, Seconded by Commissioner Todd, the vice president called the question, with the following results: Commissioner Levens Voted ---- Yes Commissioner Westfall Voted ---- Yes 18. Legal Counsel Mr. Keating reported on the following items: Personnel Issues Needs to be discussed in Executive Session Reeves & Mestayer update Contracted thru HCTC to pursue a legal claim of damages from the BP Oil Spill. They have filed a claim in the amount of $2.5 million on behalf of the CVB, if awarded will be granted to this body. 21. Treasurer s Report Mrs. Carriere reported the July 16, 2013 disbursements as follows: check disbursements for 07/16/13-- $367,423.10; total travel advance/reimbursements for June $1,400.00; grand total disbursements--$368, Commissioner Daniels moved these disbursements be approved. Mrs. Carriere reported on the Room sales tax revenue of room sales tax collections for July 16, 2013 actual 5% collection was $546, with HCBOS s 2.75% share being $300, and HCTC s 2.25% share being $245, for a % change in total collection, and total income of 2.43% year to year changes. 23. Mrs. Carriere reported on the current budget figures. Approved Budget Revenue - $3,933,500.; to date collected revenue - $3,009,023; Remaining Revenue collections $924,477. Total projected expenses $3,933,500.; Year to date spent - $3,041,809.; Project remaining - $891, Commissioner Daniels made the motion to accept the financial report presented. MDA Tourism Golf meeting Attended state meeting in Jackson to discuss marketing of golf in the next year. Discussion focused on attendance at 2014 golf shows with a proposal to share in a state booth at various shows. USA Football Development Camp Several phone conversations with Russ Yurk, Director of Events, about the possibility of adding the Mississippi Gulf Coast to their 16 locations nationally. Group is very interested and contact has been made with Biloxi HS Athletic Director Tom Gladney and Biloxi Parks & Rec Director Cheryl Bell about the rental of facilities to hold this event in March of 2014 and First year attendance anticipated to be approximately participants in addition to parents with growth to in second year. Organization needs to have dates secured by September Initial contact with Russ Yurk was made at 2013 NASC Symposium. South Coast Golf Guide Met with Publisher Jonathan Laird to discuss Mississippi Gulf Coast golf promotion/advertising in his publication. Elevate Hoops/T3 Travel Coordinated a meeting between Elevate Hoops director Jaime Palmer and T3 Travel representative Josh Akright to discuss future housing for the Gulf Coast Hoops Fest. A very productive meeting as a housing service may become necessary in 2014 with plans to add younger age groups and many more teams to the event. Initial contact with Jost Akright was made at 2013 NASC Symposium. USFA Memorial Day Classic Girls youth fast pitch tournament which was held over the holiday weekend and included 80+ teams. The event was played at the Gulfport Sportsplex and Goldin Park. Contacted WLOX-TV which came out and did a report on the event. Tournament Director and USFA Vice-President 13

14 Jeff Strode was interviewed along with Torye Hurst about the economic impact the event has on the local economy. USSSA Early Summer Shootout Youth baseball event held May 3-5 and included 112 teams. The event was played at the Gulfport Sportplex, Goldin Park and the Ocean Springs Sports Complex. EVP Pro Beach Volleyball Phone conversations with Ross Balling, Tour Commissioner about the possibility of adding the Mississippi Gulf Coast to the tour. Proposed location would be the beach adjacent to Jones Park. Proposed date is June 7, 2014 and June 6, Event is taped and aired on 20+ RSNs (regional sports networks around the country.
