March Ronald Feleus Middelburg, the Netherlands We visited Moraine Lake near Banff, Canada, during a recent vacation. We hiked in the morning, but came back for this picture at sunset. June Marcus Maffei Wayne, Pennsylvania June is one of the better months to see humpback whales at Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Massachusetts. I was trying to capture the spray from a distant whale when this one breached right next to me! July Paul Poupart St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada I took this photo when the sun was positioned just right to reveal the ghost riders produced by the shadows. A simple 90-degree flip of the photo gave this a surprising effect. August Eberhard Obreiter Waldbronn, Germany Trolltunga is one of the most spectacular scenic cliffs in Norway, about 1,100 meters above sea level and hovering about 700 meters above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. People from all over the world travel to see it! September David Adamec Mulgrave, Australia I took this photo at St. Paul s Beach just before sunset. St. Paul s is a back beach on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. October Shuang Feng Guangzhou, China The Pinnacles is a true desert landscape in Nambung National Park, Western Australia, where the weathered rock spires rise out of yellow sand dunes. I took this photo after sunset. The long exposure gave me a deep blue sky and made the nighttime look like daytime. November Luca Godina Waldbronn, Germany Horseshoe Bend, Arizona, at dusk has beautiful colors, so I decided to make it black and white. I found it even more beautiful. December Kaiyu Lu Beijing, China I shot this in the icefall park on Xiayun Mountain, Fangshan, Beijing, where people came to enjoy the ice during the warm winter of 2015.
