Andrew has nominated to stand again for one more year as President, but is happy to stand aside if someone else would like to take on the role. It was also discussed this is voluntary and if a member doesn t want to enter they don t have to. The members draw will be trialled starting with the December meeting. It was a perfect morning to spend at the lovely homestead and gardens with entry money going to Bega Valley Can Assist, a very worthy cause. There was a good selection of vehicles on display from both the Pambula and Bega car clubs. We were later joined by some very nice Porsches, mostly from Victoria. We headed off home about 2 pm after spending a lazy few hours chatting under the shade of some lovely old gums. Thanks Ray for organising a very relaxing and enjoyable day. 9

We all sang Happy Birthday to David to help celebrate his 60th Birthday. 12

13 On the way home we stopped at Adam's Vintage Cars where we all pondered our next purchase (or not). Kianinny Bay was agreed upon for our next mid-week run on 13th December one week early owing to Christmas. 13

14 Club Registration Day Sunday, 25 November 2018 by Garry Thornton T he sun was shining for the morning of the BHMC Registration Day and members were gathering early. The Registration Inspection Crew. Anthony Dack, Russ Napper, Henry Petterson, Stan Arnts and Garry Thornton were at the ready as the vehicles were coming at us thick and fast. Quite a number of vehicles were presented for their inspection; thank you to the members that attended. The system was operating like a well oiled machine with Rhonda Leggett and her assistant Coco in the front office conducting the paperwork like a well tuned orchestra with Alan Smith directing the flow of customers. What a great productive morning was had by all. Many thanks again to Anthony for providing the facility, and the crew Rhonda, Alan, Russ, Henry, Stan and Anthony who all donated their own Sunday morning time to make sure that our members were looked after and the Inspections and paperwork completed. 14

16 Dodge Dodge Sedan Noel & Sue Trevaskis own the only Dodge in our Club. Their fully restored 1937 Dodge manual four-door touring sedan looks stunning in British racing green; perfectly complemented by the sumptuous green interior! Thanks Noel & Sue for sharing your Dodge! 16

17 Rover Rover P5 Mk2 Sedan The lovely 1961 Rover P5 Mk1 owned by Ron & Carolyn Cole caught our eye in the recent photos of the Montreal Goldfield club outing. It is great, now, to also see their gorgeous two-tone green Rover P5 Mk2 auto sedan (note the Mk2 has front quarter windows). Thanks Ron & Carolyn for sharing your Mk2 Rover with us, sadly now for sale. 17

18 Chevrolet Chevrolet Universal Sedan This stunning green four-door automobile is the 1930 Chevrolet owned by Bert Alker. It has sunflower yellow pin stripes and wheels, midnight black mudguards and running boards with kick plates and step protection. Bert bought his pride and joy locally from the Reeve family - making it just two owners in eighty-eight years, and both from Bega! The Reeve Family, 1930 Bert s Chevrolet was purchased new at the 1930 Bega Show by the Reeve family, market gardeners, of Gordon Street, Bega. Their daily drive was regularly seen in Bega and district towns, their wooden trailer laden with fruit and vegetables, bags of potatoes tied on the running boards. 18

19 Bert, with assistance from many talented friends, restored his Chev in the 1980s. The body was painted an attractive Zircon Green - very close in colour to the original paintwork. The bench seats were plush pleated in a green leather appearance. The six-cylinder overhead valve engine was rebored slightly over size. A specially developed Carter up draught carburettor allows the engine to tick like a clock. Bert said it is a joy to hear the gentle exhaust burble. Even the wheels were changed for improved comfort - now objets d art. Sir Jack Brabham AO OBE Bert with Sir Jack Brabham, icon of world motorsport and three-time Formula One world drivers champion, as part of local Australia Day celebrations. What a thrill! Bert and his Chev have attended many, many Club events, both CHACA Bega and BHMC. They have participated in Vintage Rallies and been part of the Grand Parade at the 2018 Bega Show (previous page). His stunning Chevrolet has been featured in the newspaper, has carried dignitaries and celebrities, but above all, to Bert, she is a joy! Thank you Bert. An update from Bert: In the absence of local demand this part of Bega's history has now been sold to an avid collector in Sydney. 19
