2 Page 2 Lehigh Valley Thunderbird Club President s Message Hello Fellow Lehigh Valley Thunderbird Club Members! I hope this message finds everyone in good health and happy spirits! Thank You for having the confidence in me to vote me in as your Club President. It is a honor to serve in this position is off to a good start! We had good attendance at our initial General Membership Meeting on Saturday, January 10th at the Starlight Restaurant. Then the following weekend, we met at the Hamilton Family Restaurant for breakfast and made what is becoming the Annual start to our year, our trip to Auto Mania, at Allentown s Agriculture Hall. While it was cold that day, it was great to see the warm smiles of friends. So, what are my aspirations for our club? I will sum it up in several words; Cars, Friendships and Community. While the basic factor that binds us as members is our love of the Thunderbird automobile, many strong friendships have formed and will form in the future. Community comes into play in that we are all involved in our individual communities, but have also brought our Thunderbird family into our communities too. I hope to not only gain more members into the club, but to gain more activity from our present members. Over the years, our club has become more active in local cruises and shows. We have hosted two car shows and donated a significant amount of the shows proceeds to Non profit organizations like the Nazareth Food Bank, Jen s House and Pediatric Cancer, all in our community of the Lehigh Valley. So it s a new year, come on out and participate! You will notice we moved our General Meeting to Saturday afternoons for January, February and March. Travel should be easier and hopefully a little warmer in the winter sun. Our annual Pizza Night will now be Pizza Afternoon and as tradition has it, we will release our 2015 Planned Activities List. Also we will have some additional surprises to, BUT it is not too late to send in your suggestions so they may be included on our list. Please let me or any Officer or Board Member know your ideas! In 2016, we will be hosting the ITC Convention. We need volunteers to help out, so pencil in September 2016 for the convention. We will have more details at upcoming meetings for you. Enough for now! Stay Safe, Warm and Healthy, Vince *** Remember to check our message center for updates and/or *** Board of Directors Jean Brendlinger (TBD) Dennis Crago (484) Jerry Engle (610) Sandi Fries (610) Bill Ingraham (610) Gina Jones (TBD) Mike Melnyk (610) Barbara Melnyk (610) Alan Miller (484) A Message from the Board As we begin 2015, we ask all members to look over your calendars and your Thunderbirds and get ready for another fun filled year. It has been a while since some of you have come out and participated in a club function, so since 2015 has started out with such mild weather and bright sunny days, try to come out and say Hello! Our membership renewals are still coming in. We ask all those intending to renew to send your dues in by mid-february. Our dues and membership number is the basis for our budget and allows the club to commit to do the various shows and support charities. Last year we were able to donate some sizeable funds to the food bank, Jen s House and the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. These organizations have a very positive impact in the Lehigh Valley! If you know someone with a Thunderbird, get them to join the club...the more the merrier! Please ATTEND PIZZA Afternoon, as we will unveil our Club Activities for Some surprises too!

4 Volume 4 Issue 2 Page 4 AUTO MANIA 2015 A BRIEF REVIEW OF 2015 Sold Out Vending and a Record Turnout Highlight Allentown Weekend One show down, 12 to go! The 2015 Carlisle Events season concluded its first event of the year with Auto Mania at the Allentown Fairgrounds. The event drew thousands over the course of the weekend and again, packed Ag Hall. Indoor vending space was once again sold out and guests came from the region over to find a deal on tools, parts, merchandise, memorabilia, collectibles and more. With temperatures and Mother Nature generally cooperating, PA s largest indoor heated swap meet was able to stretch its legs outside too, offering even more sales space for merchandise and cars where enthusiasts could continue to shop. As always, the first event of the season was a smashing success and has helped pave the way for what should be an awesome 2015 season for Carlisle Events. Save the date for the 2016 event because Auto Mania returns January Call today for information. - See more at: CLASSICS IN ATLANTIC CITY Event Schedule Dates: February 27th - March 1st, 2015 Show Hours: Fri. 9:00am - 8:00pm Sat. 9:00am - 9:00pm Sun. 9:00am - 5:00pm Auction Hours: Fri. 11:00am - 6:00pm Sat. 11:00am - 7:00pm Sun. 11:00am - 4:00pm Memorabilia Auction Hours: Friday - Sunday 10:00am - 11:00am
