1 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING UTAH TRANIT AUTHORITY RE: Proposed August 2014 ervice Changes. UTA is proposing several service changes to local bus service in Utah County and alt Lake County. Public hearings will be held to discuss these proposed changes. The locations will be: Utah County: Provo City Library at Academy quare, 550 North University Ave., Bullock Room #309 Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. alt Lake County: alt Lake Community College, President s Room 4600 outh Redwood Road, tudent Center Building, Room 225 Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Holladay City Hall, John Holladay Room 4580 outh 2300 East old Holladay Elementary chool) Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. At the hearings, the Utah Transit Authority will provide an opportunity for citizens, private transportation providers, public officials and interested agencies to comment on the proposed changes. To be included as part of the Public Hearing record, all comments must be postmarked or received by UTA no later than May 17, The format for the Utah County Public Hearing will be as follows: Open house to review and discuss proposal with UTA representatives First 30 minutes) Presentation by UTA representative regarding proposal immediately following Open House) Public comment period immediately following presentation). The alt Lake County Public Hearings will be an Open House format. Proposed route changes will be posted. UTA staff will be available to answer questions from the public as well as hear feedback from the public concerning proposed change. The public will also be able to submit written public comments. To assure full participation at the hearing, accommodations for effective communication such as sign language interpreters or printed materials in alternative formats, or a language interpreter for non-english speaking participants, must be requested at least five 5) working days prior to the date of the scheduled event. 2 All comments will become part of the public record if received by 5 p.m. May 17, Proposals are as follows: UTA is proposing several service changes dependent upon operational feasibility and financial limitations. The changes are designed to improve bus routes. Also, some other concerns such as low ridership, timing and routing adjustments need to be made for a more efficient operating local bus system. Utah County Proposals Route 833 a fixed route local service to be replaced with a flex route service and some alignment changes. Route 836 a fixed route local service to be replaced with a flex route service and some alignment changes. Route 832 will have its alignment adjusted to better serve the Brigham Young University Campus and student housing areas. Route 831 will be modified into two different routes, one to serve between the Utah Valley University campus and the Orem FrontRunner station, the other to serve mostly the same area south of UVU to the Provo FrontRunner station with some alignment changes. Route 840 a new route, servicing portions of the interior of the UVU campus is proposed. Route 853 will be modified into more specific routes to better serve the area between Lehi FrontRunner station and businesses in the Thanksgiving Point area and east of Thanksgiving Point along tate Road 92. By establishing three new bus routes: Rt 864, Rt 865, Rt 867. Additional small adjustments to all schedules as needed. alt Lake County Proposals Route 9 ervice Mario Capecchi Drive via ast, University Avenue and North Campus Drive. The 9 will terminate at the Medical Center TRAX station and turn into the Route 17. The route frequency is proposed to increase to 30 minutes and add trips to start earlier in the morning. Route 228 ervice proposed to be eliminated between Murray North and 3900 outh and Wasatch. Route proposed to service 3900 outh and Wasatch Park and Ride, 3900 outh to 2300 East to 3300 outh and then continue with current routing to Research Park, University of Utah and alt Lake Central.
