2 Changes in use of Irregularity Codes Effect. June01, Changes in use of Baggage Irregularity Codes (RL Codes) according to IATA RP1743e, Attachment A Introduction The revised codes will become effective June 01, 2008 as part of the 28 th edition of the IATA Passenger Services Conference Resolutions Manual. Several years have elapsed since the Irregularity Codes describing the reasons of baggage mishandling (so - called Reason for Loss Codes ) according to IATA Recommended Practice RP1743e have been revised. A group of volunteers (Airlines and Handling agents) had been established whose vision and mission was to reduce the number of codes if possible and simplify respect the view of our Ground Handlers watch security issues implement new codes if necessary eliminate respective codes Several reporting tools (some are open to the public, our customers) are based on the baggage irregularity codes. Therefore detailed and correct entries of the reasons for baggage mishandling are required. If the code does not describe the actual reason for mishandling sufficiently it may be described in free text in the element RC. Legend: P = Primary code S = Secondary code Codes and verbiages crossed out are not in use any longer. Codes written italicized are newly implemented codes. Changes to RP1743e (deleted codes verbiage /new codes) Following changes will become effective: P 10 Origin Station Errors Tagging Check In S 11 Incorrect or no entries on tag S 12 Not checked to final destination S 13 Checked to final destination 2 Separate Contracts S 14 Baggage not labeled S 15 Wrong bag labeled i.e. tag switch S 16 Bag received too late from check in S 17 Old tag not removed S 18 Baggage not reconcilable, no or wrong data in check-in systems Bag (s) not authorized to load P 20 Origin Station Errors Short-shipped Failed to Load S 21 Bag left at station of origin although /correctly labeled S 22 Bag received too late from check-in S 23 Standby baggage left behind S 24 Bag checked-in airside (intercepted at gate, security, etc.) S 25 Gate checked baggage left behind S 26 Off-loading due space/weight restrictions or resulting from unserviceable handling equipment (not weather see RL 60 s). With this the duplicated mentioning of RL - Codes in other groups could be avoided (e.g. RL33 not off-loaded in group RL40). Former RL52/RL53/RL55/RL56 codes are broken down into Interline and Online and MCT available (minimum connecting time sufficient to transfer baggage) respective MCT not available (minimum connecting time not sufficient to transfer baggage). RL54 is related to the agreements between inbound and outbound carrier about the (block) time until one carrier makes the baggage available to another. Former RL57 is broken down into transfer problems between Alliance partners (RL57) e.g. SK onto LH - and transfer problems between codeshare partners. (RL58) e.g. AP onto LH. Former RL58 (Bag (s) not authorized to load) is new RL59. Page 3 / 5

The primary RL codes specify the general description of the cause (e.g. RL10 = Origin Station Check In) and the secondary a detailed description (e.g. RL16 = bag received too late from check in).
