1 Subject: Performance of domestic airlines for the year Traffic data submitted by various domestic airlines has been analysed for the month of Aug Following are the salient features: Passenger Growth Passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan-Aug 2017 were lakhs as against lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering a growth of % (Ref Table 1). 2 The passenger load factor in the month of Aug 2017has shown increasing trend compared to previous month due to beginning of festive season. Cancellations The overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic airlines for the month of Aug 2017 has been 0.83%.Airline-wise details of cancellations are as follows: Zoom Air Trujet AI JetLite Spicejet Jet Airways IndiGo Go Air Vistara Air Asia Cancellation Rate (%) Note: Zoom Air did not operate during the month of Aug 2017 due to grounding of their aircraft on account of Bird Hit. Various reasons of cancellations are indicated below: Conse/Misc 21.7% Operational 2.6% Commercial 3.8% Technical 55.0% Weather 16.8% 2
3 Passenger Complaints during the month During August 2017, a total of 599 passenger related complaints had been received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of Aug 2017 has been around The airline-wise details are as follows: Air India (dom) 1.6 Jet Airways+Jetlite 1.3 Go Air 0.5 Trujet 0.4 Air Asia IndiGo Spicejet Vistara Zoom Air No. of Complaints/10,000 Pax Various reasons of passenger complaints are indicated below: Catering 0.3% Staff Behaviour 7.8% Disability Others 6.2% Fare 2.3% Refund 7.5% Customer Service 31.2% Flight Problem 26.0% Baggage 18.5% 3
