1 Subject: Performance of domestic airlines for the year Traffic data submitted by various domestic airlines has been analysed for the month of Sept Following are the salient features: Passenger Growth Passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan-Sept 2017 were lakhs as against lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering a growth of % (Ref Table 1). 2 The passenger load factor in the month of September 2017 has shown declining trend compared to previous month primarily due to the end of tourist season. Cancellations The overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic airlines for the month of Sept 2017 has been 0.78%.Airline-wise details of cancellations are as follows: Zoom Air Trujet JetLite AI Jet Airways Go Air Spicejet IndiGo Vistara Air Asia Cancellation Rate (%) Various reasons of cancellations are indicated below: Operational 8.3% Conse/Misc 51.5% Technical 29.8% Commercial 0.7% Weather 9.6% 2

3 Passenger Complaints during the month During September 2017, a total of 606 passenger related complaints had been received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of Sept 2017 has been around The airline-wise details are as follows: Air India (dom) 1.6 Jet Airways+Jetlite 1.3 Go Air 0.8 Trujet 0.5 Air Asia Spicejet IndiGo Vistara Zoom Air No. of Complaints/10,000 Pax Various reasons of passenger complaints are indicated below: Staff Behaviour 9.2% Disability 0.3% Catering 0.2% Others 5.3% Fare Refund 9.2% Customer Service 31.4% Baggage 16.5% Flight Problem 25.9% 3
