Set and maintained standards for excellence in aircraft and equipment readiness; ensured the team s ability to provide combat capable aircraft through efficient maintenance practices. Graduated from the Hazardous Material Handler Course and served as the squadron HAZMAT Program Manager. Supervised and managed the following Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) programs: Hydraulic Contamination, Tire/Wheel Safety, Foreign Objects and Debris (FOD), Emergency Reclamation, Respiratory and Hearing Protection. Ground instruction included basic principles of helicopter flight, aircraft systems, flight planning, operating procedures, aeronautical decision making, and instrument procedures. Designated Naval Aviator in May Student Naval Aviator, Fixed Wing Naval Aviation flight training at Whiting Field, Pensacola, Fl. Ground and aircraft instruction in the Raytheon T-34C Turbomentor. Ground instruction included basic principles of flight, aircraft systems, flight planning, operating procedures and aeronautical decision making. United States Marine Corps Basic Officer School Basic Marine Officer training in Quantico, Va. Coursework included extensive classroom, field, and practical application training on subjects ranging from weapons and tactics to leadership and protocol. Classroom events included platform instruction, tactical decision games (TDGs), sand table exercises (STEXs) and small group discussions. Field events, began with fire team and squad level and moved up to platoon reinforced events, included of realistic blank-fire training, SESAMS (similar to paintball), and live fire ranges.
