December 11, Saturday, 10:00 am Meet at Nayak. We will visit one of the most impressive flight departments in Texas. We will inspect and preflight a Dassaault Falcon 900. There are two models of the the DX and EX. Both jets are 66 ft 4 inches in length, 24 ft 9 in high, and have a wing span of 63 ft 5 in. The jets are powered by three 5000 lb thrust Honeywell TFE engines. Cruising at 0.75 Mach, the DX has a range of 4,100 nm with 8 passengers, and the EX can go 4,500 nm with 8 passengers. Andrew Smith will share his recent visit to Embry-Riddle Aviation and Aerospace University in Florida. 5 Our second guest speaker will be Captain Willard (Bill) Haines (who currently lives in Ft. Worth). Capt Haines interest in aviation began as an Air Explorer. In the Air Force, he was the squadron commander of a group of Lear Jets based in Colorado Springs. Bill retired from the USAF and flew for Delta Airlines for almost 15 years. He became a Captain last year, but recently took early retirement. Bill looks forward to visiting an Aviation Exploring Post where it all began for him. The Learjet 45.
