Introduction HELP CUSTOMERS MAKE THE MOST OUT OF THEIR F-900EX and F-900C COCKPITS WITH PRIMUS ELITE There are over 120 Falcon 900EX/C aircraft in service, each of which is a candidate for the Primus Elite upgrade. Honeywell s Channel Partner, StandardAero, performed the initial Primus Elite installation and FAA STC on the F-900EX and is seeking EASA approval as well. They have agreed to make the STC data packages available to other qualified Honeywell Channel Partners wishing to take advantage of this new revenue opportunity. 3 2. Overview Primus Elite is ideal for F-900EX and F-900C operators looking to upgrade to the latest display technology and provides a value added update to the existing Primus 2000 avionics system. The Primus Elite flight deck upgrade delivers the most sophisticated and user friendly display retrofit available today. Primus Elite features powerful graphics, advanced features and the improved clarity of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology. Improved situational awareness capabilities and safety enhancements include the electronic display of Jeppesen charts and maps, XM graphical weather overlays, and video inputs, all enabled through a cursor control interface. The LCD displays also incorporate internal computing power allowing operators to take advantage of future technologies previously only available to new aircraft. All this without the downtime, expense or additional pilot training required with lesser Display upgrade solutions! 4 2.1 Value Proposition Honeywell understands that operational efficiencies and safety are not mutually exclusive. As beneficiaries of this focus, F-900EX and F-900C owners and operators choosing the Primus Elite flight deck upgrade will add aircraft value - while also increasing the safety, efficiency and reliability of their aircraft at the same time! 5 Confirmed Growth Path o Synthetic Vision Display (SVS) o Future technologies support pending mandates 2.2 Primus Elite Charts Display The primary purpose of the chart function is for viewing Jeppesen terminal charts on the multifunction display (MFD). An example of a typical chart display provided by this function is shown in Figure 2-1. The Chart application displays: Airport Charts Standard Instrument Departure (SIDs) Charts Standard Terminal Arrival (STARs) Charts Approach Charts NOISE Charts Notices To Airman (NOTAMs) Air Space Restrictions A displayed chart can also be split, Figure 2-2, to show the header, profile, or minima information in a separate window from the chart with each window being able to be controlled independently. To further enhance pilot situational awareness, the own ship position (aircraft symbol) is displayed on all geo referenced charts and maps. Page 5 of 21

7 Jeppesen charts are used for Primus Elite and are available by subscription via Honeywell/Jeppesen Integrated Navigation Data Service (INDS). INDS can be reached at: Within the US: Outside the US: On the World Wide Web: Please see Table Database and Service Subscriptions, for available chart data packages, pricing details, and ordering information Multi-Function Display Moving Map Primus Elite provides a Moving MAP feature that displays the current FMS flight plan on a geopolitical map. The Moving MAP also provides the background data on which Uplink Weather data can be displayed. The mapping features are provided via subscription service from INDS. See Table Database and Subscription Services, for subscription service details required to support the Moving MAP feature list. The Moving Map is capable of displaying the following information: Uplinked XM graphical weather Geo--political boundaries Graphical representation of the active flight plan Magnetic heading Bearing pointers Navigational aids (NAVAIDS) VORs, NDBs etc Airports HI and LO Airways Terminal and Special Use Airspace Miscellaneous annunciators The map has three user selected display modes: North-up Heading-up Fixed These display modes permit the user to show the previously mentioned information on a moving map in relation to the current aircraft position. These selections are controlled via the MC-800 Multifunction controllers. Page 8 of 21

9 2.3 XM Receiver and Antenna and Weather Information Network (WINN) Service - Option Honeywell s Data Link Weather Receiver, XMD157-01, brings high speed textual and 3-D graphical weather to the Primus Elite Flight Deck. The receiver interfaces with Primus Elite to provide real time weather information while airborne. The XMD157 adds a new dimension to datalink weather receivers by providing Honeywell s Weather Information Network (WINN) Service on the ground, and at any altitude within the Continental United States (CONUS). WINN is provided through the Honeywell Global Data Center (GDC). Please see Section XM Graphical Weather, for further details on contacting the Honeywell GDC for current WINN subscription pricing and service information. WINN will provide the following weather view and weather products for display on Primus Elite: Primary Views (Figures 2-6 through 2-13) US NexRad Radar Storm Tops (on top of NEXRAD) Satellite Cloud Heights Winds Aloft AIRMETs (Airmen Meteorological) SIGMETs (Significant Meteorology Advisory) Clear Air Turbulence (CAT) Lightning Replay - closes the WX menu and begins showing a continuous loop of weather data (up to 2 hours of history in 20 minute increments) Legend - The uplink weather data legends, as shown in Figures 2-7, 2-8, 2-10, 2-11, 2-12, 2-14 and 2-16, permit the pilot to see the color codes associated with the weather data selected for display. Additionally, there s no need to request data or wait for a reply, because the XMD157 provides the most recent information available by automatically updating the weather data even if it s not currently selected for display on the MFD. 16 4. DU-870 Display Unit Customer Credit Honeywell will provide the Primus Elite installing Dealer a trade in credit value of $5, for each DU-870 removed and returned. The intent of this trade-in credit is that it be passed through to the operator upgrading his aircraft as an added pricing incentive to purchase the Primus Elite upgrade. DU-870s for which credit is being sought must be returned to Honeywell within 10 days of final delivery to the operator of the upgraded aircraft on which the displays were originally installed. Any applicable credit will be applied to the installing Dealer s current open Accounts Receivable balance with Honeywell. Failure to return the unit within 10 days of final delivery to the operator of the upgraded aircraft may result in a delay in the issuance of the appropriate credit. 5. Trade In Instructions To return the removed DU-870 unit and to initiate the trade-in credit, a Return Material Authorization (RMA) must be requested at Returns@Honeywell.com.
