2 FTO Volume 3 Operations Manual STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES SYSTEMATIC : PROCEDURES / SOP <<< GENERAL >>> PRE-FLIGHT BE early at the airport and BE prepared for the Flight! Allow extra Time to carry out all > Pre-Flight Tasks! FUEL / WEATHER Fuel, Weather are the Two absolutely critical factors! TIRES Parts on an airplane that receive the most wear & tear! TAKE-OFF Remember > Take-off is a Critical part of any flight! CROSS-WIND TRIM (3-AXIS) Align the Aircraft with Centre-Line using Rudder and hold Aileron into the wind (Check Limitations : AFM) Maintain Attitude, Level, Heading : Cancel any forces AIMING-POINT Aiming Point is where your eyes would impact the RWY! FINAL Control the flight-path with the Flight controls (Pitch) and the Airspeed (VAPP) with the Throttles (Power) HIGH-SPEED (ILS) Maintain clean configuration to 5 NM, 15 inches MP! CIRCLING At MDA (Visual) turn to down-wind by (45 /45 sec)! FLAPS-LESS Fly onto the Runway with little Flare for touch-down! BRAKES VMCA Energy absorbed by the brakes after landing is enormous! One engine in wind-milling, Max power on live engine < COCKPIT - ORGANISATION > Allow extra time to settle into the cockpit, position you seat, securely locked. Ensure that you can apply full rudder deflection, same for the flight controls. Become familiar with the location and operation of all controls and switches. Keep the checklist where it is readily accessible, same for the Flight Manual. It is strongly recommended that you memorise all checks, SOP, Procedures. Have your Charts, Jeppesen, FPL ready and well organized in the Cockpit. FLYING A MULTI-ENGINE DEMANDS A PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE Issue 1, Revision N 0 Date: Page: 2
