Hawden Valley trap line, waiting a response from Andrew Ecker. Support days similar to wilding pine days. Chris will receive the correspondence and work out what to do with it. Closed. Action: Chris. Membership application form to be reviewed. Membership application versions being created. Form is to include CTC bank account details, a section for new members information and the FMC bulletin. Action Chris. Investigate clubroom sign options including prices (similar size to the Lapidary Club sign). Invite Ian to the end of year committee meeting Editor: Eric Skea Action: Nick. Pass the last trip leader-training participants to Eric. FMC offer to host CTC summary and trip information. The feeling was the CTC were giving FMC our content. Action: All. Look at NZ Canyoning website as an example. Think about the benefit of providing a summary of CTC and a link to our website. Training Officer: Mani Singh Action: All. Safety Management Guide and Club Health & Safety responsibility is to be reviewed. River crossing organised for the 10 th December. Navigation course to be led by Eric. Date to be confirmed. A second river crossing course is being planned for February IT Convenor: Nick Edwards Action: Nick. Make payment for web hosting and to be reimbursed. 4

5 Action: Nick. Can couples addresses be increased from one to two? This is currently too difficult so be placed on hold. Closed. Action: Nick. Add the warning of spam filters to the new members documents so that people have the information when they join. Closed. Action: Nick. Other trip signup system improvements include: capability to add prospective members, PLB tick box, and personal details. Being worked on. Last minute trips being placed on the website. HTTPS certificate being sought and will aid access and internet security. Social Convenor: Kay Taylor 1. BBQ location for the New Years BBQ. Do we want to return to Halswell Quarry, or have a change? Beach? Sumner? Suggestions please. Action: Kay. Organise The Groynes for the next Christmas BBQ. 2. CTC years book. The copy at the club hut is in rough repair so I bought it back. We could either have it re- bound, or contact all members to see if there s a couple of copies in better condition we could buy? Action: Rex. Provide another copy of the Club 50 th Anniversary Book for the club hut. 3. What did the Committee think of the Auckland University Map Archive: Cartographic and Geospatial Resources Repository? Shall we put the link on the CTC website? If so, I suggest that we e- mail the link to all members as well, and I ll write a blurb on how to use the site to go with the site link and the e- mail. Action: Nick. To create a Link on the CTC website to the Auckland University Historic Maps. 4. The Club Hut Needs some new pillows. Lots of sales on in the lead- up to Xmas. I suggest we invest in a dozen and get some new pillowcases too. Action: Kay. Buy 13 pillows for the club hut. What was the outcome with the window squabs replacement? Did we reach an action plan? They re looking pretty tired. Action: Kay. See if Loraine is interested in recovering the window seat squabs. Curtains? What needs to be done to get some curtains up? No. 5. Pest control around the hut, as part of Predator Free NZ. I may be able to volunteer to do this job. Kay proposed the CTC purchase a self- loading trap for possums and one for rats to be place at the hut. Seconded Alan. Action Chris. Purchase a self- loading trap for possums and one for rats to be place at the hut 6. Lack of Access / Denial of Access. Proposed keeping a record of refusal of access Option to push FMC ref access. A club member has raised this with me and pointed out that we are getting refused access with increasing frequency. She suggests we keep a record of these refusals, and 5

6 where there isn t a reasonable reason given (such as lambing), we forward refusals and non- replies to Walking Access NZ. Ian Dunn would be the person to raise this with if the Committee agrees it s a problem we should keep an eye on. Action: Chris. Ask Ian for feedback for the next committee meeting. Most Wednesdays are booked. Which is a great outcome. Hut Convenor: Steve Bruerton Action: To be arranged. Clear light roofing (10 sheets) has been offered by Dave Jenkinson to improve the outside entrance. A volunteer is required to lead the project. Action: Steve. Organise the repair of the battons and weatherboards on the front of the club hut. Gear Custodian: Bernard Parawa Action: Bernhard. Bring tents and seam sealer to the newsletter folding night to share the maintenance of the tents. Action: Bernhard. Bring first aid kit to a club night for expiry date review. Action: Bernard and Karen. Look at crampon options. 2 options have been provided. Gravel crampons look good. Purchase 2 pairs and send the invoice to Natasha. A red helmet is missing. Action: Eric. Notice in the newsletter of missing red helmet. FMC/DOC/Conservation Officer: Karen Tait Action: Karen. To circulate FMC St James proposal to committee. Action: All. Look at the example NZ Canyoning website to see how it works and how it could be of value to the CTC. FMC are looking at historic knowledge, areas of expertise and experience into their rucksack of knowledge. Encouraging others to share training through FMC. Aoraki National Park have come up for review and will be inviting submissions. 6
