Deildartunguhver is the most powerful hot spring in Europe and one of the largest in Iceland. Hraunfossar or Lava Waterfalls are over 900m wide. The beautiful waterfalls are named Lava Waterfalls because they flow from underneath the nearby Hallmundarhraun lava field. Only a few metres away is Barnafoss waterfall. It is quite different from Hraunfossar and has a strong current. Legend says that the waterfall got its name after two boys fell into the river after trying to cross a stone bridge which now has collapsed. After a break in Húsafell, we head up to Iceland s second largest glacier for a fun minute snowmobile ride up to the opening of the man-made ice cave.
