1 Heart Wish an Awakened Heart Sangha Teaching Weekend with Tara Dew and Patrycja Bielek-Smith Friday 10 th to Sunday 12th March 2017 The Cherwell Centre, Norham Gardens, Oxford OX2 6BQ 25 places available If you are certain you want to attend the course please book by the 16 th December 2016 so we know where we are for numbers. Thank you. Course description by Tara and Patrycja Heart Wish In this weekend we will be exploring our genuine Heart Wish. For each one of us there may be a different way in to discovering this deep longing or caring within us. From this basis we will learn how to incorporate our longing into our path, creating our own personal vision / pranidhana for our lives. In this experiential workshop we will play with the possibility of retelling the stories of our lives in a way that honours our Heart Wish. (We will be making use of the personal pathway booklet so you are invited to bring yours along with you if you wish.) Outline Programme When we are in session the activities will include Talks by Tara and Patrycja, reflective exercises, group discussion, sitting and walking meditation. We will have the use of the delightful and spacious garden at The Cherwell Centre. Hot drinks are provided for all breaks. Friday 10 th March Arrivals from 4pm From 5pm setting up our space, creating a shrine area 7pm Optional Evening Meal at The Cherwell Centre 8.00pm to 9.30pm Introductory session and meditation

2 Saturday 11 th March 7.00 am to 8.00am Morning Meditation for those who can make it 9am to 1pm In session with suitable breaks 1pm Lunch provided 2.30pm to 5pm in session with suitable breaks 7pm Optional evening meal at local Indian restaurant (an evening meal at The Cherwell Centre is not available) Sunday 12 th March 7.00 am to 8.00am Morning Meditation for those who can make it 9am to 1pm in session with suitable breaks 1pm Lunch provided 2pm to 4pm in session with suitable breaks 4pm - 5pm Tidy up time All food that is provided will be vegetarian The Cherwell Centre The Cherwell Centre is the home of five Roman Catholic Sisters. They are part of the Society of The Holy Child Jesus. They help people to know and love God and to find God in their own lives particularly through their humanity. The centre is made available for retreats and conferences. They encourage interfaith work and bookings from people who are involved in socially useful projects. Overnight Accommodation Accommodation at the Cherwell Centre: They have 5 single and 2 twin en-suite rooms available. The charge is: Single 40 per person per night for Bed and Breakfast Twin 60 for two people per night for Bed and Breakfast (self-help breakfast, food provided). Please book this accommodation through Pamo, Jane Reed, the

3 weekend co-ordinator. Booking accommodation independently Nearby Bed and Breakfasts and small hotels. The Cherwell Centre (CC) is a 15 minute walk from Oxford city centre. Bed and Breakfast at Oxford University The nearest colleges to The Cherwell Centre are St. Anne s and St. Hugh s Galaxie Hotel Banbury Road, OX2 7BT, 20 min. walk to CC Parklands B&B Banbury Road, OX2 6JU 15 min. walk CC Linton Lodge Hotel Linton Road, OX2 6UJ 15 min. walk CC Cotswold Lodge Hotel ( more expensive) 66a Banbury Road, OX2 6JP 4 min. walk CC There are plenty of other B & B s in Oxford Travel The railway station and the coach station are, respectively, a 25 minute and 20 minute walk from CC. There are taxi ranks at both these stations. Car Parking The nearest car park is at Gloucester Green a 20 minute walk from CC. It is a large underground car park. Otherwise you will need to use the Water Eaton Park and Ride, OX2 8HA and alight from the bus at the Bevington Road bus stop on the Banbury Road; a 4 minute walk from CC. There is also some free parking in nearby streets from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening. However it is popular with local people and you can t

4 be guaranteed a place. What to bring Notepad and pen If you want to sit on the floor for the meditation sessions you will need to bring your own mat/stool/cushion as the centre only provides chairs. Cost Place on the course if you are opting for the Friday evening meal at CC Option of a Saturday evening meal in a local Indian restaurant around 12 for a main dish and a drink (pay on the night) Teaching You are also invited at the weekend to make an offering, Dana, for Tara and Patrycja, who will receive no other payment. An envelope will be provided and you can pay cash or cheque, Suggested amount: Booking All bookings and payments are directly to Pamo, Jane Reed. It is however an AHS/Shrimala Trust event and all proceeds will go to AHS. To book your place.
