Joining Instructions for Delegates lease find below notes for delegates attending the forthcoming RRC Annual Network Conference Wed 26 th Fri 28 th April 2006 Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Getting There lease refer to directions and maps on pages 4, 5 and 6. On Arrival Car arking - On arrival at Heriot-Watt University please park in the main visitors car park, situated to the right of the main avenue into the campus. Residential Delegates Arrivals - lease book into your accommodation at Visitor Reception in the James Watt Centre. Your key will be available for collection from onwards on the day of arrival. James Watt Centre Reception is open 24hours. Departures Guest are asked to vacate their room by and return their key to reception on the morning of departure. There will be a 20 charge for any bedroom key not returned to reception by on the morning of departure, if a key has not been returned by noon a full accommodation charge will apply. Luggage may be left temporarily in the baggage room at James Watt Centre Reception. Day Delegates please follow directions to the James Watt Centre as above and register with the RRC staff.

2 Registration Registration for both residential and day delegates Wed 26 th April will be from 09:10 at the entrance to the James Watt Centre. Coffee will be served from onwards in the Main Hall but please ensure you register first. For day delegates on Thurs 27 th April, registration will be available from until 09:00. Delegate packs will include Final rogramme, Speaker and oster Summaries, Delegate List, Workshop Lists. Speakers / Session Chairs After you have registered please ensure that you speak to Jenny Mant prior to the start of events. lease sit near the front of the conference room so that you can take your place at the top table for your session. Trade Stands / oster resentations After you have registered please speak to Alice Fellick before erecting stands or placing posters. Alice will help you find a space that will be nearest to the tea/coffee/lunch sessions for viewing. If you require floor space please let Alice know in advance and see her on arrival. Breakfast Times & Location Breakfast will be served in the Middle Floor Dining Room from Evening Meal on Wednesday 26 th April If you have booked a place on the evening meal (inclusive for 2 day residential delegates) you have the opportunity to use the James Watt Centre II bar which will be open from onwards. lease make your way to the Main Dining Room at 19:30 for a 19:45 sit down. Wine & beverages may be purchased from the bar to accompany your meal or you can use the waitress service which will be available. 3 Friday Site Visit to the River Tummel 28 th April Those attending the site visit should make sure they return to the main auditorium after the workshops end on the Thursday. Information regarding the visit and arrangements for the Thursday evening will be discussed. Delegates who have booked the site visit should assemble near the laying Fields which are located behind Reception by Friday; please note the coach will leave 09:30. A packed lunch will be provided. It is essential that you wear your WELLINGTON BOOTS (walking boots will mean wet feet!) and suitable outdoor clothing (waterproofs if necessary). The coach is scheduled to return at approximately to the campus. lease take this into account when arranging your homeward journey. 4 EDINBURGH CONFERENCE CENTRE HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY how to get to Edinburgh Campus home of E D I N B U R G H C O N F E R E N C E C E N T R E A N D H E R I O T - W A T T U N I V E R S I T Y Getting to Edinburgh by air edinburgh airport t: w: Edinburgh International Airport is served by scheduled national and international flights. The airport is on the west of the city, just 3 miles from the campus. The journey by taxi takes about 10 minutes and a regular bus service links the airport and the city centre. by rail national rail enquiry service (24hrs) t: w: The mainline rail network serves the centre of Edinburgh well. Edinburgh Waverley is at the east end of rinces Street and Haymarket station is at the west end. Situated 1 mile from Edinburgh Campus, Curriehill is the nearest local rail station to Heriot-Watt University. Trains to this station go from Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket and Glasgow Central. There is a limited Sunday service. Alternatively Edinburgh ark Station is situated 2 miles from Edinburgh Campus. Trains to this station go from Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket, Newcraighall, North Berwick, Dunblane, Bathgate and Glasgow Queen Street. There are limited Sunday services except from Newcraighall. lease note both Curriehill and Edinburgh ark stations are quite isolated and Curriehill has no street lighting so onward travel to Edinburgh Campus is advisable by a pre booked taxi. For more information contact the national rail enquiry service. by bus citylink t: w: national express t: w: Stage Coach t: w: All national coach services to Edinburgh arrive at St Andrew Square bus station, situated at the east end of rinces Street. Operated by Stage Coach the X40 departs from Inverkeithing rail station via, Ferrytoll park and ride, Barnton, South Gyle, Gyle shopping centre, Edinburgh ark and Sighthill. The service operates hourly from till Monday-Friday. Getting to Edinburgh Campus traveline t: w: Local travel information for bus and rail services in Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian. by local bus lothian region transport (24hrs) t: w: first t: w: The journey to Heriot-Watt University by bus takes about 30 to 45 minutes from the city centre. The 25/25a departs from rinces Street, via Haymarket, Gorgie Road and Sighthill. The 34 departs from Ocean Terminal, via rincess Street, Fountainpark and Sighthill. The service operates Monday to Friday from until leaving every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after The 25 is the most frequent bus to Edinburgh Campus, leaving the city centre every 10 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes after During peak times, morning and evening, Monday to Friday, the 25a bus provides additional services to Edinburgh Campus. The 45 leaves from St Andrew Square via the Mound, Tollcross, Bruntsfield, Colinton and Currie. This service operates every 30 minutes Monday to Friday from till The 25 runs till midnight, after which LRT operates the 101 and 201, an hourly night bus to Edinburgh Campus from Waverley train station via rinces Street, Haymarket, Gorgie and Sighthill. Bus service schedules are subject to change and enquiries should be directed to the two main companies, Lothian Region Transport and First. by taxi central radio taxis t: city cabs t: The journey from the city centre takes around 30 minutes by taxi. by road Heriot-Watt University is situated half a mile west of the Calder exit from the A720 city bypass. The bypass connects with the A8/M8 and M9 (west and central Scotland), A1 (east and south) and A7 and A68 (Borders and south).
