4 About High Point High Point is not only the home furnishings capital of the world, but it s also a diverse business community with industries ranging from manufacturing to biotech enterprises. High Point s Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, the 37th largest metro area in the nation, is home to 1.6 million residents. This location is key to its success. It s the midpoint between Charlotte and Raleigh, Washington, D. C. and Atlanta, and New York and Miami. It s surrounded by an impressive transportation network including I-40, I-85, I-73 and I-74.
