3 1.0 TECHNICAL TRAINING OVERVIEW Hughes technical training courses take place at our Shady Grove Facility (SGZ) located at Industrial Drive in Gaithersburg, Maryland, U.S.A. On the morning that your class is scheduled to begin, check in at the reception desk at the Shady Grove Facility by 8:45 a.m. to obtain a badge and receive directions to the correct classroom for your training course. Class hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you need to contact someone, you may call our registrar, Debbie Fox, at To reach anyone at Hughes, use the main number when you ll have options to dial-by-extension or dial-by-name. The WiFi Internet access and telephones are provided in the training area. There are many local restaurants nearby within minutes walking distance of the training facility. We encourage you to rent a car during your stay in Maryland. If you have any other special needs while at the site, our support staff will be on hand to assist you. The Holiday Inn, Hyatt House Gaithersburg (formerly known as Hyatt Summerfield or Hyatt Place) has limited shuttle service to the Hughes Shady Grove Training Facility. Be sure to state that you are training at Hughes Network Systems, LLC so that you will be able to get the Hughes rate. Call the LOCAL number (Area Code: 301) listed under each hotel.
