3 WE RE DIFFERENT BY NATURE Around the corner from where you live, you will find parks with a unique mix of habitats and wildlife, creative activities for all ages, free education programs and school outreach. Preservation Parks is committed to preserving our natural areas. Visitors experience an intimacy with nature that is unique from other parks in the area, inserting quietude into a busy world. At the same time, the park district offers a range of free programs for a variety of ages. These experiences, whether they take place in the park or in a school classroom, strengthen awareness and understanding of the landscape, wildlife, resources and history of Delaware County. Whether you explore by bike or hike, wade in a creek, picnic, enjoy free nature programs or visit the sheep and chickens at Gallant Farm, your expedition keeps you close to home while providing unexpected moments of discovery and connection. Preservation Parks protects what matters the natural and historic features of Delaware County. The untouched beauty of the parks helps time stand still, so small moments seem much bigger. And that s worth making time for. 1
