Participants who live outside the city limits of the City of St. Cloud are asked to contribute to these costs through Non-Resident Fees. 2 Lake George Municipal Complex Rentals The Lake George Municipal Complex and Eastman Park are perfect for hosting any type of celebration or event. Outdoors, the park offers open space, two trails, performance stage, splash pad, and playgrounds for both little ones and the bigger kids. The indoor facility has two rooms available with capacity for up to 40 with numerous set up options; Wi-Fi internet connection is available. The multifunctional facility is available for rental 8am-10pm, Mon-Sun (closed holidays). Lake George Preschool Room (ages 0-5) Time to play! Lake George Municipal Complex offers a preschool room full of educational materials for you and your child to enjoy in free, unstructured playtime. Currently accepting gently used toys. Open Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm (closed holidays). Still have energy to burn? The preschool room is conveniently located near the playgrounds and walking paths in Eastman Park. has basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts, walking track, fitness room and much more! Stop in to learn more about our programs, punch passes and annual memberships. There is something for all ages! Hours Mon-Thurs 6:30 am-9 pm Fri 6:30 am-8 pm Sat 7 am-6 pm Fitness Room Get a jump start into the New Year and New You! Stationary bikes, elliptical, treadmills, free weights and a new universal weight machine are available for use. Stop by the Whitney Recreation Center to learn more! Kinder Gym Ready, Set, Run! Kinder Gym is a great opportunity for you and your little ones to get out of the house and run off some energy while you meet other families. Hula hoops, blocks, balls and an inflatable are all available. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Kinder Gym is available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9am-11am in the Whitney Recreation Center Gym. Cost is $2.25 for the first child; $1.25 each for additional children. ABC Kinder Olympix Explore letters and numbers while being active with your children! ABC Kinder Olympix returns to the Whitney Recreation Center on Saturday, February 17th from 9am-12pm. The morning will be filled with fun activities for improved reading skills and healthy lifestyles! Events include: inflatables, arts and crafts, obstacle course, alphabet games, healthy snacks and much more for children ages 6 & under. $2.00 per child, or $3.00 per family; $1.00 off admission with a food shelf donation. NEW! Volleyball Mini Camp (Grades K-2) Bump, Set, Pass! Boys and girls will learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball while having fun. The 3 session camp will be conducted by Granite City Juniors Volleyball instructors; participants will receive a jersey and water bottle. Space is limited; so register early! $17.00 Sat 3/3, 3/17, 3/ am Walking Track As the weather gets chilly, take your walking indoors to the Whitney Walking Track. 9 laps around the indoor track equals one mile. Check out details on our annual, punch or daily passes. Open Gym Grab a friend or family member and head over to the Whitney Recreation Center to shoot some hoops, spike a volleyball or learn the fastest growing sport in America, Pickleball! 3 Youth Volleyball (Grades 3-6) Expert coaches from Granite City Juniors Volleyball will teach participants the fundamental skills of volleyball and match play. Boys or girls registered in Youth Volleyball have the opportunity to play on a 12 & under team at a reduced rate; for more information on the 12 & under team please visit the Granite City Juniors website at gcjovb.net. Space is limited for this activity; register early. Participants will receive a jersey and water bottle. $34.00 Thurs 1/4-2/8 6:30-7:30 pm Sat 1/6-2/ am Adult Spring Doubleheader Volleyball Leagues Spring volleyball leagues are available for Co-Rec and Women s teams. Registration will be open from February 26 through March 30th. Spring leagues will start April 10th and run through May 3rd (4 weeks). $80.00 day league time Tues Co-Rec Power 6:30/7:30/8:30 pm Tues Women s 6:30/7:30/8:30 pm Thurs Co-Rec Recreational 6:30/7:30/8:30 pm Pickleball The fastest growing sport in America is played at the Whitney Recreation Center! If you haven t tried Pickleball, it is a MUST! See gym office staff for more information on schedule, skill levels and lessons. Whitney Sports Complex Spanning 142 acres along the scenic Sauk River, Whitney Park is the sports headquarters of the St. Cloud Area. Whitney Sports Complex can host a wide variety of sporting events including Soccer, Softball, Baseball, Lacrosse, and Ultimate Frisbee. The complex consists of eight slow pitch softball fields, two fast pitch fields, two baseball fields, 8 soccer fields and a tennis court. Circling the park, Whitney offers a 1.5 mile paved trail. All organized sports or walks/runs are required to have a permit. For more information or to reserve field space for practice, games, tournaments or special events, please contact us. Adult Softball Grab your gloves, bats and a group of friends and head to Whitney Park for Adult Softball. Teams will be sanctioned by the Minnesota Sports Federation (MSF) and may qualify for post season play in MSF state tournaments. Informational meeting will be held at the on April 9th; teams can register at the meeting. Registration deadline is Friday, April 13th. Leagues begin April 24th (weather permitting). 4 Lake George Warming Shelter The Lake George Warming Shelter will be staffed and open for public use during the times listed below. Starting date is dependent on the weather and ice conditions. The shelter will close for adverse weather or poor ice conditions; please tune in to WJON or check our Facebook page for weather related or ice condition closures. No one is allowed on the ice at Lake George until it is declared safe by the Park and Recreation Director. Sledding Hill and Ski Trails Grab your friends, family and sleds and head over to Riverside Park or Calvary Hill for some winter fun! Riverside and Calvary offers sledding hills for public use all winter long. Riverside Park also offers one 2.5k loop ski trail with both flat and rolling hill terrain, groomed for skating and classical skiing. Thanks to businesses, community groups and resident donations, we have skates available for free use! Games played are 6 on 6 (5 players plus 1 goaltender); players provide their own stick. Goal tenders are required to wear a helmet; it is highly recommended that other players wear helmets, as well. 5 Located on the corner of University Drive and Kilian Boulevard, visitors can explore over 20 acres of world-class gardens, plant collections, and historic hardscape along the Mississippi River. Open daily throughout the season from 7am-10pm; free admission. Contributions to support the Gardens are gratefully accepted. To donate to Friends of the Gardens, please visit: Weddings and Photography Looking for an outdoor venue for your wedding or photo session? Check out the Munsinger Gardens Special Events Area, which holds up to 50 participants and also offers a wonderful backdrop for your wedding portraits. Ceremonies at the Special Events Area, as well as photography permits for both Gardens, are scheduled between mid-may and mid-october on weekdays between 4pm and 7pm, Saturdays at 11am, 2pm, and 5pm, and on Sundays at 10am. Please call to book your special event! We now also offer Off-Season Photography permits for Munsinger Gardens, in addition to the seasonal May through October Photography Permits. For $25 fee (plus tax), you can now do your fall or winter photos in the Gardens! Photography in the Gardens 2018 Photo Contest Photographers: Enter your best Gardens shots in our local Photo Contest, sponsored by Munsinger and Clemens Botanical Society. Photos will be judged in two categories: Landscape (garden scenery) and Hardscape (decorative features in the Gardens). Any visitor to the Gardens is eligible to enter. Entries are due November 2nd and 3rd; the Awards Reception will be held November 17th at the St. Cloud Public Library. Please visit for more information, photo contest rules and entry form.
